Find them quite boring to be honest even though I liked playing cards for a few bob when I was younger. Maybe it's just because I don't feel the odds are for the player, or maybe it's because I'm a tight git. I've only been in one once in my life and preferred a drink to squandering money..yeh yeh I get the pun

Anyway my wife works in a local casino and said they took a big hit last night. Something like 85k loss which is huge for a small casino. It will be offset by the national business of course. So made me wonder how many people go and who generally wins?

Over to you guys

I mind being at the tables as a lad in the 80s. Among the group I was in was a Chinese lad whose family had a restaurant. This other (older) Chinese fella walks about, puts a big wedge down on a hand of blackjack. Loses. Does the same again. Loses. Then a third time. Loses.

He then stormed off cursing and blinding. The lad I knew then told me it was one of the waiters from his place who'd been paid that night. He reckoned he'd just tanned his whole wage in 5 minutes.

Cool story bro, but the Chinese are absolutely mad for it when it comes to gambling.

Anyway, I've barely went since my twenties. I'd go if for example someone organised a do at a casino, but its not got that much appeal to me. Nor gambling generally. For which I am grateful as I know folk who've burned themselves horrifically - like, life affecting for years thereafter.

Sounds like you are same as me. My wife *Tania* tells me most Chinese are OK bit the woman can be awful, self entitled and bossy. But there is less Chinese coming now. But she won't go to a Chinese ar Indian restaurant locally as she is convinced they will spit in the food if thy recognise her. 😅 because some still think the staff can manipulate the numbers that come up

My dad worked in the #1 and #3 casinos in London in the 1980s and 90s. He had some great stories of folk winning but more regularly losing eye watering amounts of money. Arab sheikhs and their entourages (30+) were commonplace with the bank being told just give them what they want!

Only casinos I’ve been in were on cruise ships, done ok at blackjack where a level of skill is involved, the rest pure luck so didny play them 👍
