I would need to see it - those looking at TV pictures could he no have launched it into row ZZ? when I saw it looked like he fcuked up and it caught his hands rather than a deliberate use of hands :dunno: Cost us the game.

I'd need to see it again to be sure but i thought the striker got a toe to it just as Brown was about to kick it and it bounced off his arm .Certainly NOT deliberate and nowhere near as blatent as Rab Douglas's a few years ago at Easter Road :banger:

Looked like Petrovs pass got held up in the wind and fell perfectly into the path of Zuarwski(sp?) Had our defence skinned and Big Si was the only thing between him and the net, Zura got a toe to it in front of Si and it looked like an instinctive reaction to get a hand on the ball.
One of those things unfortunately

I was sure there was a player back:dunno:

Maybe no, anyway, like you said, it was one of those things.

Had he not been sent off would we have seen another penalty fly into the net? Or a freekick?

We held our own well after being put down to 10 men, with 11 we could have won :banger:

I think it also needs to be said that big Zibi did a brilliant job today. Although his first kick was p1sh. We ran them till the last minute and they know it, they dont play football and rely on refs giving them the chances.

Im still happy with the way we fought until the death, MOAN THE CABBAGE:applause: :applause: :applause:

That is also true :applause: From the posts on here I thought that Zibi was pish but from what I saw the day that is not the case

From where I was sitting Brown sold the pies.

I was having doubts as a lot around me applauded him off! I mean surely you'd have to be a fanny to applaud someone off who'd just sold any chance you had of taking something from the match?

zibi was class, penalty save was quality, and made good saves, a save from a free kick as soon as he came on, well done zibi :thumbgrin

TBH Sean I thought that Brown took one for the team, 3-1 down no chance as it was we still had a chance with 10 men and a goal deficit. It played a bit more into Hibs hands as Celtic then decided to come forward allowing us to hit on the counter attack.

Can I also be the first to say that today we missed O'Connor leading the line.

i though caldwell was back?
a lot of guys around me were saying that the keeper can only get sent off if hes the last man and i thought caldwell had got back before he handled it?

anyone else think this?

You r spot on - Caldwell was getting back .! Yellow card at worst but typical of Freeland's performance to-day!:tuttut:

caldwell was back to cover - Ii thought Brown should have just went right through him physically as Goram would have- they would have got a free kick and Si Brown a yellow, nothing more.

he just got it wrong again. Bet Deek was delighted to get the hook because of that incident.

Sorry, but deliberate hand ball is a straight red card. Doesn't matter if there were 10 guys on the line, Brown had to go :(

think the point people are making with the cover being there is he showed a lack of awareness in handling the ball when he could have scythed the pole down for less and not cost us a man.

Brown was far too slow in coming off his line in the first place, then he felt he had to handle it as he panicked thinking Zurawski was going to go past him and score. Bad decision making i'm afraid, and it cost Hibs any chance of salvaging anything from the game.

I'm sorry but Si strikes me as someone with his brain missing
He could have done lots of things but handling like that was just stoopid

made some great saves especially the penalty

Zibby is a world class shot stopper...he's like a fekin cat when they do shooting practise at the warm up

its the other aspects to his game that let him down:sad

I agree, Zibby has an amazing talent for being able to see where the ball's going in time, but sometimes he gets a bit cocky and fucks up......plus his punching clear is poor, his kick outs arent great, i could go on.

What we need is for some one to melt Zibbi and Si Broon togehter and we'll have the complete keeper :rollfloor

Lets not start a slating Brown thread with this one. Hes been solid since he came back in. He took one for the team as stated by Kabul. There was no intention of handling it. Zurawski nicked it and brown ran stright into the ball. Still a red from the rules of the game, but harsh however he was last man as Caldwell was 2-3yards behind Maciej. That was game over if Brown stayed to his box and no way out from 3-1 down.

Simon been solid. Now Zbigniew has his chance again and made a fine start. Simon will get his position back if theres any hiccups along the way. But we dont want to go into a rangers position and constantly switch the keepers which led to unsettling of the defence and keepers low in confident. Zibi has the gloves, Simon will be back.

wtf he didnt cost us the game he saved a penalty n a close shot Zibi played great :tuttut:

If you read it again I think he was talking about Simon Brown

:tuttut: Brown should have been out quicker anyway and knock Zurawski right off his feet when clearing it instead of throwing his hands at it:tuttut:

Brown charged down the player and if he hadnt done something it would have surely been in the back of the net.

Looked like Zurawski got a toe to it just before brown got there and as an automatic reaction for a keeper stuck out his arm to stop the ball going past him.

Nothing he could do unfortunately

my opinion is he was very very unlucky in what was a difficukt situation my mate is a keeper of a decent level and watched the highlight with me and he said

"FFS that wiz a nae win situation"

i'll go wi that

The first time i have seen Brown come out for anything and he gets sent off.:banger:

Agree with all of this. Maybe we're beginning to see the benefit of having Marshall as goalkeeping coach?

I think this is the case. Since Marshall came to the Leith San Siro, I definately think Brown commands his area much better.

Zibi. He had a few mingin games this year. But lets not forget that hes had his first sprog, and his wife is in a strange country, so it must have been really hard for total concentration etc....... Iv got a 2yr old and anyone whos' just had a 1st baby (especially the new dad) has his head up his bum for at leat six months solid. Zibi did really well when he came on against smellic. :thumbgrin Bown has deinately improved recently :thumbgrin and by all accounts from other bouncers who have seen this young lad (name escapes me- sorry). hes definately one for the future. :thumbgrin

Hibernians tradition of great keepers is back on :thumbgrin
