Normal crowd for them is about 500 [or less]. Today they will get a big bonus with around 30,000 dobbers staining their stadium. Nice lift for the Queens against the Queens 11. Hope they do the manky fukkers but really cant see it.

As an aside, on telly the anchorman said this was the oldest derby in Scotland. In Glasgow perhaps but surely us against the diet huns is older :dunno:

Might The Rangers freeze on their first game at the national stadium ??
I laughed at tartan face Ferguson in the paper today mentioning Rangers "demotion to the 3rd div" :laff:

Not true!!

Govan wasn't incorporated into Glasgow until 1912. Until that time Govan was a separate Burgh governed by their own Town Council.

But then, the Rangers that played Queens Park in previous years are now extinct, so technically this is only their 2nd ever game against each other

:newco:

seems incredible now that teams like QP and Clyde actually could command a large home support and compete with the big boys..so much for commercialism

I've fixed that for you Davy. Hope you don't mind :glassraise:

Was Queens Park part of Glasgow then or was it in Rutherglen? I don't know.

Read the thread title and was immediately consumed with rage at the very thought of transvestites being granted an extra public holiday. :bye

Funny that, Carpal, we were singing from the same her book.

Queens Park was a district of the Crosshill burgh, and wasn't annexed into Glasgow until 1891

The Weege was surrounded by no less than 9 self-governing Police Burghs around this period, eventually all of them being incorporated into the one big Weege at diffierent times,

A bit like Edinburgh wae Penicuik, Dalkeith, Musselburgh, etc, except these toons are still independant of Embra, in an administrative sense.
