BBC

so is tony guilty or not?

cliff gotta be stretch in the pokey soon?

From reports it looks like the girl was a bit of a dreamer...certainly no evidence to say he is guilty and bbc just wanna make him a scapegoat for their incompetence

The allegation has to be taken seriously, always thought he'd be next to be honest.

Looks to me as if, having had a preview of the report, the beeb is jettisoning anyone from those days with a whiff of scandal before the corporation is damned further by continuing to employ people who either have, or may yet have, the finger of suspicion pointed at them. The old 'no smoke without fire' rather than innocence presumed it would seem.

They binned him because he lied about previous meetings he had had with the head of the Beeb at the time. Apparently.

Cynical I know but the woman from the "Esther Rantzen childrens trust" or whatever it's called should have rephrased her question and asked why Esther [and Janet Street Porter] didn't say anything at the time these things were happening because apparently they both knew. If I recall correctly they stated that they felt they were too young to be listened to or some other such bollox as that.

I could be wrong but I don't think it's that Tony Blackburn Tony Blackburn Tony Blackburn was implicated in kiddie fiddling but that he didn't own up to what he had seen while working on the Pops. Savile was incredibly powerful. Alan McGee from Creation Records went to dinner with Bliar and Cherie at Chequers once and Savile was there. He did whatever he liked all night. McGee said it was as though the Bliars were scared of him.
