Arsenal v Bayern on Sky One (HD too I'd imagine) for non Sky Sports peeps like myself.

just realised this a few minutes ago..good news ( although missus is not chuffed..)

should be a cracker.

How the fukk can a professional footballer fukk up a penalty as badly as that :dunno: Arsenal should be in front easily.

Gary Neville is doing my head in. I wish he would stop whining on about the sending off. The ref had no option and it doesn't matter a fukk if GN thinks the ref should have left the goalie on the pitch so as not to ruin the game. What a prick.

Neville's the best commentator on TV.

At the risk of being a pedant - He isn't a commentator. He's more o a side kick although I think they do call them co-commentators nowadays

I liked the way he informed all us thick viewers that the Bayern penalty missed because the direction was wrong. I`d like to thank him for that professional insight. :coffee:

Still, look on the bright side, that's two of the top teams from the 'best league in the world' humbled at home in two days by Johnny Foreigner :glassraise:

Arsenals capitulation against Der Bosch makes me wonder why the gunts bothered to save the world in the first place :lookaround:

Well done Arsene, he certainly taught Giroud a lesson for having a skank back to his hotel room.
Sanogo might be good enough to bully a Liverpool defence when Arsenal reserves spunked the pretenders oot the cup but this is Bayern in the champs league ya bammer and he didn't help himself fielding a weakened team.

They can at least concentrate on the league and cup BUT that's a big chance missed tonight albeit not helped by a :red:.

Watching Barcelona last night and Bayern Munich tonight, they are probably the two best club sides in the world right now. It's their pace and movement which is so enriching to watch, all of their players control the ball instantly and then pass and move into space right away. They also work like Trojans to get the ball back after possession has been lost. The other big thing I always notice is just how intelligent these players are on the ball....nothing is done hopefully...everything is done with a purpose..every pass..every shot. Their awareness is such that they all know exactly when to move quickly and take a defence out. It's great to watch. How I wish we could develop a group of Scottish players who could all play to that standard.

I seriously believe that a five-a-side team comprising Manuel Neuer, Dani Alves, Toni Kroos, Thomas Muller and Lionel Messi could beat Hibs' first eleven.

That lineup could probably pump the living daylights out of most teams in Scotland....

That's the first time I've ever watched a game on Sky that wasn't in a boozer or club, and therefore the first time I've been able to hear the commentary all the way through. I expected better. I didn't have any beef with what Neville said I just thought he spoke too much. It was Michael Owen with a Manc accent. Jamie Rednap was deplorable. How anyone could anyone think Arsenal were brilliant in the first half and dominated for 35 minutes! As a whole, they weren't as annoying as Hansen and Savage but I didn't think they were much better.

Arsene is saying that the foul that saw Schezsny sent off wouldnt have been given in England :dunno:

It is a double wammy, but the decision was right for me.

And Neville said at the time "Robben doesn't need any excuse to go down" when it was apparent that what he should have said was "Robben would have found it difficult to stay on his feet given he got clattered by the goalie".

These commentators are oh so quick to cast aspersions elsewhere as if there were no english players who went down far too easily.

Agreed, however to be fair to Neville he usually does say that a player went down very softly/too easily even if they are English.

Tyldesley & co on ITV & Lawro etc on BBC wouldn't dare to say such a thing like that!

I trust the Arsenal supporters who booed Robben for the rest of the game are now suitably shamefaced if they've seen the penalty incident on telly.

He could have a point. He "didn't think" the stone wall pen for the foul on Suarez on Sunday past (that wasn't given) was a foul either

Though he had, miraculously, found his glasses for both incidents. Usually he doesn't see them...

The Specsavers ads must have hit home :glassraise: The power of advertising eh :Sparkle_Cool:

Nah.

Every time they lost the ball, which surprisingly would happen occasionall, a punt up the park by Hibs would see the forwards running on to it pretty much unopposed with only the keeper to beat. Hibs would also be able to keep the ball easily from 4 outfield players - they'd be absolutely knackered before the end of the first half.

It'd be a hammering.

Fair point :giggle:
He was quite blatantly calling Robben a diver at the touchline too. Somehow he hadn't seen his keepers gesture leaving the park either
Leigh copped it for the same thing... UEFA won't take kindly to it. Longer ban on the way.

Depending on who was shooting.. I reckon most would brick it at the sight of Neuer and the sounds of Dani Alves and Muller bombing back towards them. If it was Easter Road it'd take no time for them to make up the ground.

Shades is right. It's pie in the sky stuff thinking that these players could beat an entire team on their own. It just isn't feasible Hammi.

I was being facetious, I thought that would have come across!

I just meant "they're right guid, this lot, eh?"
