Anyone Know About MOT Tests?

Had a prang in the car recently and the rear bumper popped off its fixing at one side (projects about 1cm).

I got quoted silly money to repair it but while I shop around for a better quote, it needs MOTed. Anyone know enough about the test to say whether it would fail if I put it in without ding the repair just now?

I think if it's secure and not likely to cause a danger to a pedestrian it would be ok

As long as it won't fall off it's fine.
And if it has a jagged edge put tape over it, can fail on that if not.
