I was privileged to have seen Free at the Isle Of Wight Festival in 1970. Andy was a year older than me and it doesnae half make you look at your own mortality. On the other had it means that he was only 17 FFS when he performed there. What a fuckin band.

True . . . and he was already way ahead of any bass player in the country at that age.

Did they no play students union in Embra early 70's Big G?
I think my brother saw them then.
 
Don't know mate. They played the Empire a couple of times. I was at one of them.... in body only.

Just thinking back, in the 70's I went to hundreds of gigs, seeing great bands, sometimes 3 in one week at different venues. Edinburgh venue wise, is now a fuckin disgrace.
