Yep when I was a bairn it was Stevie's then Jimmy took over from him then Craig.

So that's 67 years and three owners. Folk travelled from all over Edinburgh to Fergies.

Sad day for Moredun mate.

Jimmy was Craig’s dad eh? Never knew it as Stevie’s
 
We called them the first shops, then you had the drapers store where Scotmid is now then the second shops.

So the shops were Stevie's, Douglas and Dawes, Urquarts, Filsells, Stewrtys then the butchers shop (now a hoose) who's name I can't remember (Colvins at the second shops was always the better butchers).

Aye it's going to be shit mate.

Hopefully another home baker takes over and runs the shop basically the same.

I used to love the trifles from there with the synthetic cream (a wee bit too much to be fair) and the pies were the business.

Here maybe the story has been put out as a black ops by a rival baker.

One with a king Billy tattoo and who is a Merrick. Something isn't right about this story.

Imagine if Fergies goes down and then reopens as a smashed avocado on sourdough type of place?

That would be the scheme knackered.

So (once I send her the money) she will arrive via Fergies. And guess what Billy she will bring me one of the superb vanilla cakes.

They're called vanilla slices in Gracemount, as rat bairn will confirm as she is a Gracemount resident. Nae greeting fae me, I have gave up cakes (slices), pies and rolls for the immediate future.
I might treat masel tae a chocolate biscuit wi my morning coffee on Sunday.

Rat bairn is currently in Scotmid so she will be heading to Fergies soon.

I'll pass on the gen shortly when she arrives bearing gifts (which I've sent her the money for anyway 😂)

Why don't me, Billy and Stu buy Fergies?

I'll supervise, Stu can do the deliverys before his work and as Billy is usually up early doors he can be the master baker.
