In a sad echo of David Bowie, Alan Rickman has also died at 69 after a private battle with cancer.

Whatever your age he's guaranteed to have played a classic 'baddy' in a film you love.

I really liked him; wonderfully camp. Saw him in real life at the Vatican museum (he wasn't an exhibit).

Been a dreadful few weeks for celebrity deaths.
