Alan Hansen - Intensive care.

No. It was Willie the ref.
Miller tells a story at his after dinner gigs that people used to ask him 'if he'd bumped into Alan Hansen lately'.
I should have been clearer, I remember it was Miller involved but I thought it was he and McLeish not Hansen

I remember seeing him play at Partick Thistle against Hibs, couldn't have been long before his big move south. Worrying times.

Definitely 82 though I thought it was Brazil.

What a bunch old duffers we are, but I think the consensus is two Scottish players collided at some point in 1982!
It was the Russia game....it cost us the match.
We went 2-1 down although Souness equalised in the last minute it was too little too late.
Worth remembering that we scored an incredible eight goals in our three group matches in that 1982 World Cup...and still didn't get through to the knock-out stages. Mainly because we conceded eight goals well.

Them against the Soviets and the goal against Brazil will never be forgotten.

The way his illness was being talked about I assumed he was done for. Great to hear.

Great news. Hopefully Scotland manage to give him a smile later on.

Hanley and McKenna are going to run into each other tonight and gift Hungary a goal as a tribute to him 😁
