Is this in reference to Aiberdeen going in to lockdown? I just got an email news alert about that. Could cause problems for Scottish Football in general.

Players are regularly tested so it should be fine IMO.
Bigger problem will come when they are playing in Europe, though again if the testing procedures are up and working properly this should be ok as well.

I was misinformed. ( thank you to my darling wife!)
He had been tested, but didnt wait for the result before hitting the pub.
Still an arsehole.

Indeed and if there’s no legal means to punish him then surely worth setting about his nether regions with a cattle prod.

How angry would you be if someone you know died as a direct result of this fukwit putting lives at risk for the sake of wanting a pint in a pub.

We are going to get this happening periodically as the months go on.
This is the reason and benefit for having regular testing.
He will have been sent home to isolate for 14 days.
Shouldn't affect their match as all the other players/officials/coaches etc will have presumably tested negative.

It will affect their match in other ways - they now can’t train today, so will have a massive impact on their preparation for Saturday.

Then there’s the mental aspect, the other players will be thinking about it and if they could be affected....

This will be the same for any club right now, it’s still a massive problem.

I get what you are saying, and I am no medical expert. The scottish government will give the proper guidance at the end of the day.
I just can't understand why they need to cancel training for this week (and next apparently) if all the rest of the staff have tested negative up till today ? That would mean none of them have the virus so can't transmit it. As long as the player concerned is immediately taken out and self-isolates for a fortnight I really don't see where the problem is ?
 
I see the boys on expelegated are over the moon - 'karma' etc etc. They really are weird.
 
Rumour is there were up to 8 Aberdeen players in Soul boozer on Saturday night.
So much for listening to the rights & wrongs.

If that's true, then it kind of puts to bed the official line that squads are safe due to being in a "sporting bubble" ☹️
I take no joy from their predicament, but it's a right wake-up call for all clubs. Get the players to screw the bobbin hopefully.

Totally agree, Aberdeen should be made to forfeit the match - would put the message out there to all players and clubs.
 
They have the luxury of playing a sport on the basis they do the right thing

Its only taken two weeks for a game in our country to get called off. This is an elite league ffs.

My preferred option would have been to play the game with the players available.
If done safely of course.
 
Get out of jail free card for the sheep as things stand.

St J lose a few quid with 24hrs notice because 8 Sheep players think they can do what they want.

Government pressure not to play the game no doubt but SPFL should punish them.
 
Should fine Abersheep £2500, imagine they *&*^ across town?

I think that's what the spfl wanted to do, but government stepped in and said postpone possibly on the basis of risk to health and/or spread from Aberdeen. My reading of the statement is that spfl are mighty hacked off at breaches on Aberdeens part.
 
Rank stupidity from those Aberdeen players....it's cost them big time.
Lesson for all of scottish football to stick by the rules otherwise we are in for one almighty farcical season.
 
When are they allowed to go back to training? If this weeks game has been postponed and they’re in quarantine will that mean the same for their game next week, or is it a series of tests and once 2 or 3 in a row come back negative they’re allowed to resume?
 
Hopefully reduce the Aberdeen “Love in” that’s existed in the media over the last few years. Pricks.
