Grandson’s 2nd birthday today, spent it at Disney Paris and the joy on his face brought tears to our eyes. Wife retired 2 days earlier so every day’s a holiday now.

The actual May 1 holiday is taken pretty seriously in Europe. But it's under pressure in a way only the French could do.

For those not following the steak thread I crossed the international date line overnight. Yesterday was 1st May, today is 1st May!
Yesterday you lot were 11 hours behind me, now you're 11 ahead!

1 of May is taken seriously over here, all work needs to stop by 10 pm on the 30 april. There is a march/ parade through the centre of town with all of the unions who have a presence in town represented. Working at home like painting or building etc is frowned upon. We normally go and watch the parade then home for a bbq
