Ukraine.

Mexico side with Russia whilst a Braziliam opposition leader claims the fault lies with Zelensku for not lying down like a poodle and giving over territory to Putin. And also blames the West for arming Ukraine and states that Zelenski is just a comedian who wishes to be on TV.

The 'between Liberal and Socialist,' is quote by the Leader of the ruling Servant of The People Party, named after a popular TV series.
In my opinion it is neither Liberal nor Socialist by any stretch of the imagination.
For anyone interested in a balanced analysis of what is really going on and why, far from MSM garbage about imminent invasion.

I absolutely fail to understand why you you think that news outlet is any more or less reliable than any other.
The reason for this very thread they got wrong, " russia won't invade Ukraine "
Its true what they say, ingrained ideology won't be altered by the facts.

The advisor to the head of the ministry of internal affairs stated that the fate of the Crimean bridge has been decided, and whenever Ukraine get the opportunity they will destroy it. Presumably Ukraine have given up trying to hold onto Crimea and have decided Russia will not have access through the Eastern territories to Crimea, not bring weapons that way.

The morale and psychological state of many Russian soldiers remains low with alcohol and desertion being noted

Despite this RF have made some gains and continue to strengthen positions including taking Popasnaya, however UF say that there is nothing left of the village and retreated to more secure locations

In Berlin the Police confiscated a Ukranian flag as they have banned the demonstration f both Ukranian and RF symbols

Azov fighters still have ammunition and continue to fight. However there can be no military solution at the moment from Ukraine and Arestovich responded quite forcefully that he is not happy with people who keep raising the subject with the President's office as he has friends and relatives in Mariupol and is not happy at accusations aimed at the President. It is not clear if he means civilians, media or perhaps Azov leaders, but they also stated how much they have defended Mariupol destroying vast quantities of equipment and personnel of the Russians but felt let down that they had no air support in the early days and that bureaucrats and politicians were arguing and saying there would be no invasion when it was clear there would be. He also hinted that some were not exactly against RF. He also stated that the commander of the Marines had tried to flee Mariupol with some marines in a jeep but were captured..I had wondered why we had not heard from him for some time.
Arestovich also said if the promised weapons and ammunition do not arrive soon, it may give Russia the impetus to try again attacking Kiev, Sumy and Kharkov as covert mobilisation was underway.

RF knew the villagers were there as they had moved there from the local house ofd culture which was bombed while they had been there and forced them to move to the school.

Too many people in Luhansk did not heed the evacuation warnings and now it may be too late to evacuate.

Russia's victory parade contained some antiquated trucks and tanks today and they could not get the doomsday plane up due to a malfunction. There was no jets either as they were concerned about attacks from Ukranian anti-aircraft weapons.

Note RF have been losing at least 20 tanks a day for the last few days...however many they have it is unlikely they can sustain these losses for too long!

Daily Mirror reporting that Russian troops have been reported as turning flame throwers on each other and other troops downing tools.Similar reports could have been read during the Russo Japanese war in 1905 on the eve of the 1905 Revolution, then again in Feb 1917 on the eve of the first Revolution in 1917,don't believe the hype, the 1st World War was brought to an end by Revolution and mutiny.I'm not saying this is anything like the same scale but there are hopefull signs, also Russia's economy is nose diving.

If there is a chemical attack tomorrow near the Azovsteel place...it will be a false flag.

There is a video going round with one of the Ukrainian ministers stating the Russians have done this and warning people to stay home.

It's obviously pre recorded.

I hope it doesn't happen obviously...but it's a very unusual video, stating the date it happened. 11th of May.

We have been hearing for weeks that Russian morale is low and I think it is. But there is enough troops way off the front sending shells and missiles into towns and cities that give Ukranians little respite But troops on the front are openly defying generals and getting fed up knowing many of these generals are well behind the lines slipping their tea and vodka safe out of harms way. But unlike Ukranian generals they are not guiding and making proper thought out plans.

I reckon the war is entering another dangerous period where RF are running low on guided missiles and will use up more mortar shells and missiles that are inaccurate causing even more damage to residential areas. Ukraine on the other hand have now been promised laser guided missiles from America and asking for heavy equipment with suitable distance to make a breakthrough in Mariupol.

I honestly do not see RF make much more ground than they have till now, they will lose much of this and try and consolidate what they have.

Perhaps Ukraines problem is if they try to push further forward they will be inhibited by the lack of bridges which is causing RF supply problems right now.

When Nato cou tried go to war they set up field hospitals and canteens..Russia done none of this and troops are killing whatever animals they can find and stealing food. They are also using seized hospitals. Even armies in the 19th century planned better than this

Several attempts at building and maintaining a pontoon bridge over the Siverskyi Donets river have been failing for two weeks now. RF even sand some tanks underneath the bridge so it could not be sunk, but it was again destroyed. The last crossing around 80 RF got over but then became stranded from their units and will be killed or captured. A boat and other vehicles have been destroyed whilst blowing the bridge. Arestovich said it has been tried 5-6 times but failed, it is like a new Chornobaivka (where Russians failed over 10 times to take)

Significant damage to region of Shostka after a plane fired two missiles. No casualties reported. It has been a few days since the last plane was shot down, perhaps RF are keeping thm away from known anti-aircraft batteries

Luhansk region is cut off from all communications, electricity, water and gas after RF damaged a gas line, It's repair is impossible This is the main gas pipe bringing gas to Europe from the East

WHO stops all work and co-operation with Russia

Ukranian civilian deaths will be massively higher than recorded according to Al-Jazeera

Joint forces group reported the following RF casualties today (this does not include East and South groups )

12 Tanks
4 Artillery systems
19 units of combat vehicles
2 units of special engineering equipment
7 automobiles

Air defence shot down
1 Helicopter (Mi-24)
3 Orlan-10 unmanned aerial vehicles

I was in both the Gulf skirmish of 91 and Bosnia. Reading put-aside newspapers on my return was laughable - and that was information from a 'free press' - and not just the tabloids. Every news organisation has their own agenda and not just those state controlled - look at our government and the BBC they are both an absolute joke and morally corrupt.

Russia invaded the Ukraine in 2014 and Cameron was selling him weapons to help, then Cameron and the Tories switched tack and sold the same weapons to the Ukraine.Look back throught the photo stock photos everyone was being chummy with Putin from Cameron,Patel, Boris,Blair, through to Bono and Dame Maggie Smith. You'll find all the stories from the Telegraph and New Yorker, through to the Morning Star.

Russian businessman Yevgeny Chichvarkin stated that Russians are leaving in order to escape the draft. He said 6m Ukranians left fleeing the country that was being bombed, destroyed, raped, smashed., but 4m Russians left their country where only 6 ammunition dumps were destroyed. People are buying documents to say they are in wheelchairs.

UF troops from Kharkiv are being moved forward towards Luhansk as they continue to drive RF away from Kahrkiv

In yet another intercepted call between an RF soldier and his wife, she is told that Ukranian children refused to draw symbols of Russia on victory day...SHE is heard to say..!I would inject them with drugs, if it worked I would look into their eyes and say "die, suffer". I would cut their penises, cut out the stars on their backs, and in general I would cut off an ear. Every day I would cut off a finger so that it would hurt them." Her husband appeared to have no answer for her and perhaps he is now wondering what he married!

Easy op-tactical group reported RF losses today as
6 Tanks
1 Infantry fighting vehicle
2 personnel carriers
2 ACVs
7 ATTs

in Donetsk and Luhansk, the following was reported
8 Tanks
6 combat vehicles
5 other vehicles
1 anti-aircraft gun
4 Orian-10 UAVs

No stats from joint command or Air defence so far

Why should I? What makes you so sure you are right and everyone wrong? Almost everything I gave posted has later been on the bbc.
Very little has been disputed in any magazine other than your socialist view . Plus during this war you have sat back shoving socialist ideology without a word of your own thoughts as to the raping bombing and destruction of schools, universities, hospitals and 5m displacef Ukranians. Maybe after the war you might want to visit them and tell them it was all a lie and their cities are still intact or that it was their fault anyway

I have absolutely no idea what BonScott64s political views are. That's his business. All I know is that a Scottish serving soldier found on his return that reporting of the conflicts he participated in were in his words laughable.

The West and Russias propaganda machines are in frenzied overdrive.

Remember this iconic piece of global propaganda?

Robert Fisk described the event as "the most staged photo opportunity since Iwa Jima'

Anyone who thinks they have a clear picture of what's going on in the Ukrainian battlefield at this moment is at best naive. Unless you are there, seeing things with your own eyes then take everything reported with a pinch of salt. I have no political agenda whatsoever. I was a soldier and now a nurse so you can't accuse me of being some kind of warmonger either. The truth will out eventually.

What I do know is as RF pull out, images come on our sceens that don't look doctored to me

I have seen with my own eyes camera crews from NATO aligned agencies move corpses to get 'better' photographs, get the best angles to exaggerate bomb damage and use fake testimonials from civilians for money/food.
False news abounds my friend but in the UK unlike some other countries you are free to believe and promote what you wish - to a degree...
Of course there will be truths in what is being reported but since there are two sides and both cannot be right you need to appraise carefully. 👍

I well remember during the Iraq war the BBC showed pictures of an oil slick with a bird struggling in it.The claim was that the Iraqi's were deliberately causing oil spillages (no doubt they were) what they didn't tell you these images were taken from the Exxon Valdez disaster footage.

I remember that. Stock footage is used by lots of news agencies - sometimes the actual event just doesn't look bad enough...

I think you'll find that completely bombed to smithereens towns and villages in Ukraine can be verified as being bombed to smithereens towns and villages in Ukraine and they haven't been rearranged to make them look worse.

I think you're absolutely right. There's too many reports from so many sources all saying the same and similar.

I'm also pretty certain that some of the stuff coming out of Ukraine will be a mixture of stories rolled into one or hearsay or both and more. I hope that doesn't sound as though I want to belittle it, it might not happen exactly as reported but I have no doubt there is some truly horrific stuff going on.

I appreciate @Davy giving us his updates. It gives different perspective to what's happening.

War is horrific, there is no glory in it whatsoever for any side, victor or defeated. There's bravery and selflessness on a personal level and regaining your independence/freedom as a country - glory no - nothing glorious about the Iraq military and civilian bodies smashed to a pulp that I witnessed in Iraq (hundreds). Tiny hamlets, villages, large towns, cities, centuries of history - bombed to bits or completely destroyed - not always clear by who either. Elsewhere you have Syria and Yemen as well as genocide going on in Africa, and no doubt terrorism will be rearing its ugly head again soon in Europe - world is an utter cess pit.

Good for you. But...when the Ukraine (hopefully) regains it's freedom and starts to rebuild, it will be to their own ideals (and rightly so) so what you will see is what they WANT you to see - whether that's a ruin, a monument, shrine etc etc. If the tables were turned Russia would act exactly the same.

The fact they have to rebuild speaks for itself.

We better not look too deeply into the Badder Meinhoff gang.

What is happening in former Zaire is,as you say, truelly horrendous.I found out by watching Al Jazeera not the BBC who, if they do report it it'll be on Hard Talk which gets aired when most of us are in bed.

Never seen snow in Beirut before.

In Luhansk RF have increased the shelling. The smoke is making it difficult to breathe in cities or towns.

Around 50-70 tanks and other military vehicles were destroyed as RF again tried to build pontoon bridges in Luhansk near to Belogorivka and cross the river. There are aerial photos of tanks with tops blown off and other vehicles burnt out.

RF fired phosphorus shells in Kherson region in the village of Osokorovka

Russia have depleted so much equipment that they are trying to buy old Soviet tanks or weapons from third party countries. but these countries are reluctant to sell as they are afraid of sanctions.

More civilians managed to fell Kherson region on buses today, there are volunteers helping to get as many out as possible

The UN voted to launch an investigation into war crimes committed by Russia. 33 countries in favour and 12 abstained. Only China and Eritrea voted against the motion.

UF shot the Russian vessel Vsevolod Bobrov which is a support vessel..story also here Ukraine lines up Russia’s Vsevolod Bobrov ship off coast of Snake Island

Finland joining NATO, Russia says that would affect the stability in Europe. Eh wait a minute..

I am genuinely not putting myself down here, nor trying to state the obvious , but I seriously don’t see the point in this kind of war. I don’t understand how anyone can win in the long term.
When our great British government decided to help America bomb the fuck out of Iraq ( not dissimilar to what going on in Ukraine , but paid for by our taxes ) I remember struggling to think , what is to be achieved here ? A simpleton like me could see it was only going to cause mayhem for decades to come . And I was correct.
If Russia , achieve there goal , and gain control of Ukraine, they will have resistance , forever. There situation will be worse than it was before they started this pish .
Again , I appreciate there is more to it than I can ever understand , but there really is some thick evil bastards in power in this world.

I don't think anyone is comparing what is happening to an XBOX game, or disputing that war is horrible and I hope it never finds me.

There is no justififcation for Russia's actions here. If you want Imperialistic BS look here. Of course, if you don't agree with the existance of Eastern European countries and they should just lie down and let the ol' Empires march over them again (Russia behaving like this is depressingly familiar regardless of the political rulers).

How to end this? Well, option one is force Ukraine to surrender unconditionally and let Putin have everything he wants. This is likely to include the whole coastline, much of Eastern Ukraine and the current government either in a gulag or forced to flee abroad. Of course Putin has form for "dealing" with those who try and flee abroad. Then a mass de nazification campaign to make Stalin proud. No illusions here, history suggests it will be brutal as they have to find Nazis and try and control a territory that does not want to be controlled. Only one way that generally goes.

Option two, draw this out into stalemate and force Russia to negotiate. Of course we have seen already Putin does not want to talk or negotiate in good faith and agreements are largely worthless.

Now just think about all the chaos he can cause with control of all that gade farmland and a huge share of the global wheat market........ This will have worldwide implications. I think this is largely straight forward power plays alongside ethno nationalism and maybe a general hatred of the West. There is efforts to rehabilitate Stalin as a hero, and plenty miss the old USSR.

Russia has been bordered by NATO countries for years so that don't fly.

All this "everything is the West's fault" is a little insulting is it not as Russia and Putin always had freedom of action and instead of joining the world and building their country chose to plunder it and stride down the road of autocracy and corruption. No one forced them. The oligarchs knew what they where doing.
