When they lift the pub ban, the entire UK is going to go on a bender of biblical proportions!I think there will be - not just for Hibs but social activity in general.

I'd imagine a lot of people will attend because they have been starved of entertainment. However that could be affected if large numbers of family die and people are too depressed to go. Or too skint
Large numbers of families aren't going to die.
Survival rates are of quite "reverse bibilical" proportions and most people don't notice they are ill or its a 2/3 days of being pretty crappy.
Guesstimates of survival rates are increasing all the time given the vast resources now floodding the NHS. One of the best recent estimates was 20,000 deaths in the UK so thats 1,800 Scottish people where the vast majority of these people will be aged 80 and above.
Suicide rates are 800 a year in Scotland.
Not that any unnessessary death is good but its people with underlying illness who are reaching the later stages of their lives.
A possible problem I see for football is large crowds all grouped and crammed together.
I can see reactive regulation changing this as there is enough evidence that close contact spreads illness rapidly.
Financially as well you are right as a lot of people's disposable income will take a very long time to recover and I agree physcolgically some people may take the view that there is a better way to spend your leisure time than watching 11 rich and spoilt footballers on £2,000 to £3,000 a week kick a ball about.
What about our "Hee Haw' shirt sponsors "Hibs Community Foundation" as I haven't seen them come out with any statements or initiative to support an obviously hurting and scared community for those that like that sort of thing.
Gies me the dry boak so I am quite chuffed at the silence.?
