I must have had this whole thread on ignore ?

Great read that especially the club being in a strong financial position, great too see Ron also highlighting that there is more financial backing to JR & Co for players.

If it wasn’t for McGinn cash and Ron we’d on a hefty loss.
Just shows that even with record ST sales and Europe it counts for nothing if you don’t spend well.

I wonder if we'd have spent so much if we did have the SJM money coming in? It's not as if the previous incumbents were well known for chucking money about!

_----------------_
I'm a bit surprised that in the strategic review it mentions PHB getting the bullet, 4th November 2019, and that "The club have now commenced a recruitment process ..."

Jack Ross was appointed on the 15th November!!!

We all knew the accounts were prepared ages ago but cummoan eh!

I think that's just it Jack...the accounts would have been prepared and signed off last November as usual and probably should have been sent out then and the AGM taken place around the same time. However they have both been delayed due to this comprehensive review that Ron Gordon was undertaking which must have been fairly extensive, we are only now getting the accounts sent to us. I am looking forward to hearing what the plans are and just hope it's not a damp squib. As I have already said though I have a good feeling we are going to be very pleasantly surprised.

RE Heckingbottom; The operating loss for the year ended July 2019 will have no doubt included the severance pay off for Lennon and Parker. This years accounts will also take in the severance pay-off for Heckingbottom and Stockdale. Utter madness that we have had three managers in one calendar year and we have had to pay off two of them within an 8 month period. No wonder we have regressed on the park since that last memorable few months of the 2017/18 season. I hope above anything else that Jack Ross and John Potter are given a proper chance to rebuild their own Hibs squad and that they are successful enough at the club to stay for about 4 or 5 years before moving on to a bigger club (which is inevitable if they are successful). What Hibs need desperately is stability in the managers chair and substantial progress and ambition in the running of the club including the maximising of revenue into the club wherever possible.

Could someone who understands these things explain how we end up with a 'cash balance' of £5.5m?

If we were £2.25m in debt, then paid off that debt and on top of that made £2m on players and got £1.25m from Gordon does that not mean we have £3.25m in cash?

Ron paid the debt.
If we have/had £5.5m in the bank in July it means there must’ve been £2m already in there, mainly Season ticket money probably.

I see, thanks.

I was just thrown by the fact that it seems by coincidence our cash balance at that time must have been exactly the same as our outstanding mortgage balance.

I initially thought we must’ve used the transfer money to pay off STF but folk that are way smarter than me reckon everything is above board so happy to go with them.

the account cover the trading year up to Ron taking over. I don’t think he can take criticism or credit for it?

Hmm i’d be tempted to give him credit for clearing our mortgage though it was possibly lower than the £2.1m?(No got accounts to hand) we were due.

I assume the agm is in the famous five tonight? It doesn’t say anywhere?

Do you need the attendance card?
Or just check off a list?

I’ve no doubt the attendance caird ? smooths the admittance but confirmation of shares, name, address (even certificate itself) will help for checking off.

I will not be able to attend. Could someone please ask Ronald whether cash from the sell on of John McGinn will go to the playing side of the Club or was it 'negotiated' already as part of the takeover.

Amendment......If too shy to ask the full question, perhaps simply ask whether the cash from the sell on of John McGinn will go to the playing side of the Club.

To clarify, not suggesting that Ronald would have benefited from any such 'negotiation'.
