I am aware that Sam Martinez was the oldest Hibs fan at 106 when he passed away.

I was wondering who is the oldest living Hibs supporter?

The oldest member of our Still Game group is a wonderful 94-year-old, Joe McGuinness. When we make our annual trip to HTC, Joe takes part in the walking football. A legend as far as we are concerned.

In real life 60 but in my head I'll be forever 18.

Old Joe sounds a legend indeed.

So 94 years old is the number to beat.
Does anyone know a older Hibee?

My dad doesn’t rival that but he’s 82 and is at every home game and a few aways, was on the pitch at Hampden too

Can’t rival 94, but my grandfather is 90 in a couple of weeks. Still holds a season ticket but doesn’t get along much these days due to health

Im assuming you mean who attends games regularly? The number of people over 100 has increased a lot so expect a few more in the coming years

That’s Molly, my best friend and confidant,

The guy is deid now so obviously disnae qualify but I met a fascinating old soldier many years ago from the South Side who was a Hibs fan and aged late 90's and as a younger man he had fought the 'Terrorists in the Middle East'.

He was sharp as a tack and kept mentioning 'fighting the terrorists' after the war.?

Turned out it was around 1947 and he had been trained to regard the Israel's as terrorists when England/Britain got stuck in between the Israelis and Palestinians during the formation years of Israel. Shows how things change.

Football related and he could still remember an early Harry Swan trying to take over Hibs pre war and the bakery called LittleJohns that he owned and his favourite Hibs player was Tommy Preston a one club man over 14 years and best ever game he attended was a league game v 'Scotlands Shame 1872' in front of 90,000 at Ibrox.

M dad is now 86 and even though he stopped going to Hibs games many years ago, he is still a fan and asks me constantly my views on how things are going and he is never slow to voice an opinion of his own based on his many years of experience watching football. He went to his first Hibs game in 1944 and I used to think he was winding me up when he used to tell me the queues for big games could stretch right back to the top of Easter Road. Then I saw a recent photo online of such a queue snaking along Albion Road and I realised he was right enough all these years ! His memory is phenomenal and he can recite the Hibs line-ups from teams from matches in the 40's and 50's. He was at the derby in 1950 when there was 65,000 in Easter Road. He says to this day that Gordon Smith was the greatest player he has ever seen. His favourite game he ever attended was the 4-3 scottish cup win against Hearts at Tynecastle in 1958 when 17 year old Joe Baker scored all four Hibs goals. He was good mates with Lawrie Reilly for many years as he was a regular in the Bowlers Rest in Leith right back to when Lawrie played.
I remember a few years ago being at an open day at Easter Road with my dad, and as he checked a Hibs line-up photograph from the 50's, he quickly pointed out to Tom Wright the Hibs official historian that the goalkeeper in the photo was not the one that was named in the line-up, and he was able to identify who it was much to the consternation of Tom Wright ! I learned so much about Hibs great years from my dad. I envy him that he regularly watched Hibs greatest ever team.

Wonderful. Did he go to the Scottish Cup final?

Unfortunately no he didn't.
It's been so long since he actually went to a game, he has just got out of the habit completely. Physically he is/was not really able to do much in the last few years. He was ecstatic when we won it though, and I had a photo taken with him and his lifelong friend Jock (who has sadly passed away since) with the cup. They both went to the games together for many years.
