Aberdeen V Hibernian

Absolute shite. Heckingbottom will point the Cosgrove incident, not an excuse

I think he'll point to missing three one on ones.

Can't believe that.....sooner this turkey goes, the better

Sounds like Doidge misses cost all 3 points. Not surprising he’s pish and shouldn’t be playing at this level.

When the rumours of Jase coming back were kicking about there were more than a few who didn't want him as he's "not proven at this level", tell me now though would he have missed all of those chances Doidge had?

Cummings wouldn't make the runs that got Doidge in.

Someone needs to teach him how to shoot, cant just slam it at the goalie

We were doing okay until around the 70 min mark when Aberdeen seemed to get second wind and it started to look like Hibs were the team down to 10 men.

How many more games do you give Heckingbottom? Most managers in recent times with similar results would be sacked by now. Hibs have won once in the last 14 league games. We should be discussing a Hibs win tonight. The managers tactics and ideas are rank.

Money we spent on him you would think you wouldn’t need to.

The only silver lining is it sounds like we created several clear cut chances, which is a First this season.

Last 3 league games - we’ve led in every one and only came away with 2 points ? It’s Heckingbottom’s negative tactics that are the issue.

But we're not scoring them. The Porteous goal was somewhat fortunate. We dominated games under Butcher and couldn't win. We need a manager with fresh ideas.

He even said Aberdeens subs changed the game on the radio, he should learn from previous mistakes and counter that, it's the same story.

I can overlook the Celtic game....you are always going to be on the back foot against them and they dominate practically every game they play in. Our goal was a fortunate one, but their's should never have happened. The other two games against Hearts and today's game were unforgivable. Add to that the St Johnstone debacle at Easter Road where we surrendered the midfield again in the second half and it cost us a further two points. Looks like it happened again today, but when you miss the amount of chances we missed today against 10 men that is the reason we have not won.

But we always seem to do well against the smellies no matter how our previous games have went, the fact that they haven't won at ours since 2014, although we rode our luck at times with them not getting their penalties.

Watching this on an Aberdeen stream on a train back from London.
You could see their 10 men were going to score a mile away. Before anyone says the usual ' would have taken a point before the game ' Please do not. The hand of the inevitable once again.
BIG G

I said on the thread last night that I would have gladly taken a point, but with the way the game went today it has to be seen as a very poor result given where we are. Up against 10 men and in a winning position and we conspire yet again to throw away points. Nowhere near good enough.

Cummings would have put away the chances Doidge had.
Cummings missed plenty sitters in his time.
Of course, selective memory wins the day.

Cummings can't play as a lone striker. He would not have had a sniff today.

Aberdeen also hit the post too in the last 20 or so minutes. We didn't take advantage of the extra man, the sending off was a gift and we threw it away.

chucked 2 points away. We simply can not afford to miss chance after chance and defend as deep as we did today. Aberdeen were lucky to finish with 9 on the park but there’s no excuses for sitting as deep as we were inviting pressure on to ourselves

Jesus fuck, Hibs.

If Doidge couldn't score but his hold up play was good, it might have been a good time to try Kamberi on along with Doidge. If Kamberi had scored just once, it was 3 points.Ffs, there was an extra man!

1-0 up , they go down to ten men and the game changes, they score and Fick me we were lucky to get a point from it.

I'm not clear how you can be both negative and ahead in three games.

Definitely needs someone beside him you are 100% correct, we will just have to wait on the new manager coming in before that happens.

Didn't seem to miss many against the Gunts, Zombies, Sheep etc.

It's like Harry Potters tactics. Bore everyone to death. Score and defend like f.

"Christian Doidge was dreadful today and he has been poor since he's come to Hibernian. They spent a bit of money on him in the summer and it'll be really disappointing for Paul Heckingbottom. Hibs were the better side, perfect away performance, and when Aberdeen went down to 10 men, they dropped deeper and lost their shape and discipline. I can't believe they're leaving with a point."

From the BBC. It's not good enough to "hold the ball up well" or to "put a shift in" - if you are wearing number 9 for Hibs, you have to score goals, especially when you're presented with at least 3 glorious chances.

Why leave our only striker that was scoring regularly on the bench.

That's pretty much it

A terrible player

Fair enough.
As I said. Selective memory.
I remember him scoring one against Aberdeen......maybe he missed the other chances.
As for etc, fuck knows.

I think he means once we go ahead we drop back and let the other team come back in the game.

Did that against the Hetz and against Aberdeen it looks like we should have finished them off

Fuck Cummings. He doesn’t play for us. What ifs aren’t going to get us anywhere. Doidge as a line striker isn’t good enough. Kamberi is not much better at times but he is certainly better

Sadly Heckinbottom doesn't believe in two strikers up top

I think (with respect) he means we score and rather than go on and kill off teams we drop deep and hold on. That's being negative after going ahead.

Imho that's where the problem lies.

Because we don’t pose much of threat going forward (today sounds like a rare occasion when we actually created a few chances). Because when we do score we sit even deeper and invite pressure. Because Heckingbottom seems to want us to play some kind of bastardised version of Catenaccio when we don’t have the players at our disposal to do that.

Well, to be fair to Hecky creating chances was a fresh idea this week.

And the strikers have probably forgot what it’s like to be through on goal.
