Yip according to Heckingbottom he signs midfielders that can do all jobs....

Vela just finding his feet i reckon he will be a cracking signing. I would consider loosing Slivka for a defensive midfielder but that's just my opinion.

We have 3 right backs 2 left backs and 4 centre backs. It needs worked on not dismantled.

Too slow, unfit, tired and breathing out their arses.

Dear god. You' relentless I'll give you that. Use yer brain man ffs. 2 guys forced back quicker from injury and one played 120mins (no bad for being "unfit"). Both hopefully in better shape for St johnstone game.

So what your saying is scrap our whole defence plus Vela, Newell, Doidge and Maxwell to bring in replacements?

Your sounding like a spoilt child.

I hate Hecky i want him gone waaaaa waaaa take your players to waaaaa waaaa while your at it take all the defenders with you they are all tired, unfit and slow waaaa waaa :11::11::11:

Bright leave us with no manager no players and all to be replaced in two weeks with no money. Can see why everyone is jumping on board with your plan.

Stubbsy said he would come back mate, he knows the club and how to get the best out of players, even if we were to give him the reins until the end of the season.

Right but say he doesn’t, who else is there?

That is never going to happen mate. TBH I cannot see him leaving the smellies anytime soon he and PL have a great relationship.

I think it is unfair how a fair number of posters are rounding on @ The Family. Its all about opinions. I agree with many of the concerns he has raised.I think people are kidding themselves if they think Hecky is the man to sort out this mess.I think it is too big a job for him.If this allowed to continue for any length of time it will be to late to repair the damage. You can feel the atmosphere at the game yesterday. He is only ever going to be one game away from a crisis. The majority of the fans don’t want him.

It's certainly not a majority of the fans around me. Perhaps it is on t'internet, though.

What a ridiculous thread.

Any....way! About this send out the assistant.

Just as Maxwell was used, Lewis and SDG were reintroduced into a cup competition we look as though we're doing the absolute minimum to process in and give players game time maybe it's the same with managers.

Maybe, just maybe, PaulH has given responsibility for the league cup to Robbie. Maybe he was responsible, not just for the media but for team and tactics too. Good planning if you ask me!

Well if questioning his increasingly shrill lambasting of PHB and looking for something realistic on his back up plan for replacing the club manager is rounding on him, then I'm guilty.
I don't think any supporter is happy with the performances right now but winning matches by even the ugliest of means breeds a winning mentality ultimately. Other than a tanking off the the rangers, results are fairly positive. I'd also point out that, at this stage, I genuinely believe the huns would spank Celtc right now, even with the beloved 'Lenny' at their helm. It ain't all rosy in the garden at Hibs right now but we're not at the stage (yet) where we should be considering binning the manager in favour of Alan Stubbs again who, let's remember, got emptied by St.Mirren. Puts PHBs Leeds situation in perspective that one.

Stubbsy :drop:

We seen the best of him and that was failure to get us promoted, being pumped over two legs by Falkirk, losing a cup final to Ross County.
In the space of 6 weeks in 2016 we were beaten by Morton, Dumbarton, QoTS, Raith and Mighty Alloa. Selective memories seem to just remember the wins in the cup!!

One game has hugely inflated many opinions on his ability and even his two failed gigs afterwards won't take the blinkers off some people.

We dodged a bullet getting rid when we did. I was delighted when he left a hero as my memories included the late Hanlon equaliser saving our season, a horrendously brutal second half in the replay at ER, bottoms caving in and holding on for dear life up in Inverness and being second best to a shocking Dundee Utd side at Hampden.

On a brighter note, we then turned in a great performance in the final thankfully and Stubbs goes down as a legend forever.
We'll keep it that way shall we.

Excellently put. Had he not won the cup, the 2015/16 would have gone down as arguably the worst in our history.

That run of results in 2016 starting with the 3-0 midweek defeat by Morton must be about the worst spell in the history of the club although we did have a lot of cup ties to play too around then.

Just looked at the team we had out for that Morton game and it’s almost inconceivable we lost it 3-0 - McGinn, Dylan, Hendo, Stokes etc all started! :drop:

Just a wee bit clarity here, after the game on Saturday , I nipped into the loo on the way out ,a guy around my age (50) was declaring "that's the worst Hibs team I've ever seen" Well, that simp!y isn't true .
I wasn't impressed by what I had seen ,and the worrying signs are out for sure . But this new phenomenon of lynching by social media is getting out of hand.

I find it amazing how posters on here get so angry if someone has a different view from them.It is a discussion forum so my view is that Hecky is not the right man for the job but I don’t think Stubbs is either.I just think it would be better to get rid sooner rather than later before we have to write the season off.I understand people have different views.

He mustn't have seen Butchers side. For me he was the worse I've ever seen.

Fenlon’s loan squad was pretty brutal too.

I'm beginning to learn that following Hibs is like living with Bipolar Disorder: one minute you're perked up, in the dumps the next. The Hecky situation is coming far too soon after the Kenny(or was it Lenny) situation. My own stabilised view is that a sacking after the Ibrox disaster would have been kneejerk; there was the chance of redemption against Morton if the victory had been emphatic....that didn't happen....we even scored them a couple of goals..... at ER ffs! It has to be remembered that it took penalties to beat Stirling! So what now? Back into the market for a new manager, in the hope that somebody else can make something of a bad team Hecky would leave in his wake, or persevere with him, in the hope that maybe, just maybe, and increasingly unlikely, his team is "work in progress" and we just haven't been able to see it? It's a shitshow either way, and I don't have the answer.....none of us do. So I'm fucking off to the Cowshed to act the eejit in some of the zany threads you find there. GGTTH

I find that absolutely mystifying as well. If he's been going since he was about 10 then he'll have seen two relegations, both teams packed with absolute dross. I mean, that 2014 team managed to win one game in literally about five months.

For me there's not much point sacking PHB now because a new manager inheriting the same squad is going to have limited discernible effect. Might as well give him time and hope he comes good (unlikely but not impossible) because emptying him now is pretty much the same as emptying him in eight games time as far as I can see.

The one thing about this division is you need to have a good run of 10-12 games, mostly wins, to get in the top 6 and push for places higher. That needs to be combined with a stable return of points throughout the rest of the season.

So persisting with Hecky now and, if it doesn’t go well, replacing him in 8 games time won’t really change or impact our chances. It might affect our ability to get a league cup semi final place.

Ibrox disaster? Sad to label it as that, considering there was a real disaster there a few decades ago.

I understand what you're saying but for me it's not about not being the worst its about not being the best or even amongst the best.
I also think it's about performances rather simply the team itself I think this team can and should perform much better than it is and that is all down to the manager.

I suppose that is the risk, we may get someone in who is as incapable of getting the team to perform as Hecky is.
You note it is unlikely that he will come good therefore, if that is the case, we are just reinforcing failure by not getting rid of him now and wasting time on a fools errand. If we get the right person in who can pick the right team and get them playing with purpose, passion and some style, we can avoid further poor performances, start picking up points (because I am convinced that we will not do that in any great measure under Hecky) and stop the rot including disaffecting the fans. And the new bod can start preparing for the January window.
I have never previously been in favour of getting rid early, but I have seen it too many times and do not want to see another lost year while we decide what is to be done about an underperforming and failing team.

I don't think us shipping a load of goals recently and half our defense being injured/coming back from injury is a coincidence.

We have St J, Motherwell and Killie all in a row - I'll be keen to see how those games go. 6-6 could be on the cards again.

Thanks mate, people making out I am always on here bashing Heck & Co but if they had actually read my main post I said I liked Heck & Co, he was saying the right things, I heard good things about him within the club also which @1875 confirmed.

My opinion of them now has changed but I hope they prove me wrong as I only want the best for our club.

I'm ust responding to the specific thing about this being he worst Hibs team the guy has seen. I mean, his opinion is up to him - and is the team underperforming? Yes - but I think that's pretty unlikely given the spells of rubbish we've had before.

Personally I think that's a dangerous precedent to set because you can get into a spiral of appointing a new manager every eight months. The temptation is to think anyone could be better but there's just as good a chance you get another dud, or someone even worse.

And I do think it's unlikely that PHB will be a success, but I also think there's still a chance he will, that his overall record isn't that bad, that he hasn't had that long with 'his' team, and that getting a new manager now or in 8 games won't make a massive difference, other than to signal a sort of panic. But I can very much understand your feelings, believe me.

Agree with everything you say to a point and that is why I am so glad I don't actually have to make the decisions. For me it is just an absolute frustration that here we are back with an underperforming team and an apparently inept manager and every time we seem to give them time but ultimately end up mutualling them anyway and rebuilding again. I would speed up that middle bit.
We are in a pickle whatever way you look at it!
