Fantastic article in this months Nutmeg by Mark Poole about ten other members of the playing / coaching staff in the 40s / 50s.

Jimmy Cairns, Hugh Howie, Hugh Shaw, Jimmy McColl, Jock Govan, Tommy Younger, Harry Swan (ok not a player or a coach but you know), Willie McCartney and my grandads favourite Bobby Combe.

As always great HIbs content in this Scottish Football Periodical, as youd expect with Daniel Gray being on the editorial team.

Highly recommended - nearly 200 pages on lovely uncoated stock for about a tenner a quarter (also a digital edition for you philistines out there).

I should be paid money by these guys due to the number of times I seem to be pushing it!

I can honestly say I haven't heard of this mag before but I'd be grateful for any more information you could provide.

Thanks. Looks great and just bought a rolling years subscription. So my subscriptions to In Defence of Marxism, theoretic mag, Socialist Appeal paper, The Vegan mag ,Private Eye and now this should keep me going on the reading front.

PS. The author Daniel Gray was an excellent speaker at a St Patrick's Branch meeting a few years back, talking about his splendid fitba books.
