Kicking off big style for about the last two weeks,Originally it was all about petrol prices but now it has extrapolated out to a general all encompassing revolt against the Macron austerity measures, should I say encouraged by the Neo Liberal ideology of the European Community.Thing is being of the politque gauche,I would like to see similar happening on this little island.Seeing as May will be up shit creek without a paddle on or shortly after the 11th,would similar happening here be welcomed?I would welcome it.

I'm surprised there haven't been numerous riots around the UK. It's not as if there hasn't been enough causes to choose from!

Of course maybe there have been and reporting has been restricted.

Don't you worry Moaty, the OO are ready to get the hun element of Scottish society to kick off NI stylee if independence is a possibility, then you'll have your civil war

I thought they were playing each other from the thread title amigo.

Angus I think that you will agree with much of this analysis.
French yellow vests: overthrow the government!

What we need is to bring back it’s a knockout and Jeux sans frontieres.

Probably best not to bring back Stuart hall though.

How is a bunch of aresholes in high viz jackets torching cars and looting shops doing anyone any good ?

It's showing up the Macron govt. and austerity for what it is,a programme brought in by the ruling class to make the working class pay for the banking crisis of 2008.Austerity has always been unnecessary as you notice nobody at the top of society was complaining. Now the chickens are coming home to roost.

So how does that help those whose cars or property gets fucked ? That's right , it doesn't

Am I correct in thinking the yellow vests originally protested against a rise in taxes on fuel? Was mostly farmers and rural folk complaining they'd be hit most heavily?
Global warming suggests we need to turn folk off petrol and diesel as a matter of urgency, too many folk are tied to their cars and refuse to contemplate alternatives. Harder if you live in the country right enough.

Seems to me it's been hijacked by professional protesters, something France does quite well.

I see the yellow jackets stress they're Apolitical, not that will stop either extreme in looking to gain their own traction out of it.

Fuel tax rises halted.Protests work.

Professional protesters. Like we're bein paid by the state to protest. No the people have had enough so they got out onto the streets. If it happens here I'll be joining them after I know my mum's safe and sound.

Those who's cars went up in smoke will be thrilled I imagine, not really worked for them unfortunately

They're all wearing Hi-Viz jackets!

It's health and safety gone mad I tell you.
:grrr:

I'm going up to that wee shop at the top of the Walk to get one in preperation for the 12th.

You might not.

It's been closed for ages with a sign in the window saying it's closed due to roadworks despite there not being any nearby. I kinda got a feeling said roadworks must be on his way to and from work meaning the shop was open even fewer hours than it was!

Then it was open selling fireworks and then it was closed again and then it was open the other day!

Who knows, you might be lucky.

French Government all but cave in.

Brits going through the worst parliamentary/constitutional, whatever this clusterfuck of a Tory government have dragged us into, crisis raise the alert to putting the fucking kettle on and we'll have a nice cup of tea!

Everyone’s a comedian eh.

Except Hibbybill obviously.

If they’ve stopped selling them - the new Hibs away strip might work. It’s a win/win

No need to thank me.
