The Season Ahead

The season ahead Well the new season is just about to kick off and I for one cannot wait till the Hibees get this campaign under way. We’ve had a fairly decent pre season, and it was great to see the Hibs back in Ireland once again even if our performance against Shamrock rover wasn’t up to much but I’m sure everyone who made the journey had a good time none the less. Against The Glens it was superb to see wee Zemmama’s magic once more. I think he’s going to stick out in the current side and we will find it hard to keep hold of him unfortunately, but he ho that’s the joys of being a Hibee. I just hope we get a full season from him. Belfast was also good old craic and thanks to the NI Hibs for organising the pubs before and after the game, well done lads.
The season starts with us having brought in John Hughes as our new manager. The guy is a true gem and will do his utter best for the club and fans. I certainly wouldn’t like to be going in at full time on the losing side to face him. I’m sure we will have our usual ups and downs but hopefully we will play the game the ‘Hibernian’ way I think I speak for us all in that it’s the only way we like to see the beautiful game being played. I don’t think many of us could handle another kind of defeat like the one against Morton last year. So take heed ‘Yogi’ we better beat Brechin or there will be a lot of unhappy Hibbys.
We have brought in a few signing before the end of the season and I’m sure they will all do well for us and if they play to their best ability we will be behind then 100% as we always are when we see players trying for the club. I’m excited about the young lads we have brought in, and the one’s coming through from the under 19’s record breaking squad. It’s one of the things I love, watching the young lad’s progress through to the 1st team and making an impact and thankfully we always seem to bring through some cracking players. Hogg is our new captain for the campaign which is a great decision as he is a great ambassador for the club and plays with passion and wears his heart on his sleeve as we seen last season.
Hopefully we will bring in a few more signing in the next week; we really need a big centre half in the mould of Jones. Bamba is OK in the position for cover but I for one like Bamba in midfield, I feel this is where he plays his best football but I’m not too sure its his preferred position. We also, in my opinion, need a proven goal scorer. We earned a lot of money from the sale of Fletcher and it would be nice to see some of it put back in for us to find his replacement, it’ll probably mean searching the lower leagues in England or abroad because of our wage structure but I’m sure there are a few guys out there who can do a job for us. So from me here in beautiful Ireland bye for now GGTTH

hiya great read & i suspect the view of many hibees. i do hope theres not as much negativity from our fans as there was last season, we have to give yogi time to get everyone into his way of thinking. and remember fellow hibeesbooing & getting on the players back only helps the opposition let get in there & enjoy the hibee ride ggtth

Trust & Hope Hibs will suceed this year. Although no silver last year they remained mid table.

Lets get into top 4 and continue as a top scottish team.

Wishing Hibs all success for 2009 – 2010
