    ferguson & mcgregor

i thought they were banned from ever playing for scotland again.

Barry Ferguson and Allan McGregor banned for life from playing for Scotland - Telegraph

but now levine might bring them back!

Sky Sports | Football | Internationals | News | Levein open to return of trio

kinda makes you think of how players are gonna respect the SFA when they go back on decisions like this.

i personally wouldn't have them back in the team, we have better so the SFA should just put a childish two fingers up to them.

whats your thought, should they be allowed to play again??

I don't think the SFA even wanted to ban them at the time, but they knew they had to back Burnley on it so they did.

But surely the point is that whether(sp?) they wanted to or not, they did ban them both for life and should stick to that, no?
As has been mentioned already, there are better options availible so why bother?

Apart from Darren Fletcher, I would like to know who we have that is better than Barry Ferguson? He was our captain during our best form in years. I know he is a hun pr!ck and I will get slated for this (however I dinnie give a flying one) but Barry Ferguson is a good player, end of. He is playing week in week out in the best league in the world and having him available to play for the national squad is a bonus for us. $#@! the past. If he wasn't a hun he would be forgiven. If it was Derek Riordan or Scott Brown it would be a different story. At the end of the day, we are talking about our national team and not domestic preferences. Having him and Kris Boyd in our team makes us stronger.

Boyd should never be allowed to play for Scotland again, self serving wee c*nt. He turned his back on his country, why should he dictate who he'll play for?

They are all now eligible. Getting picked is an entirely different matter

Even if I conceded to you and said it was the 2nd best in the world behind the SPL... erm I mean La Liga it still proves that he is a good player. As I said, the only reason there is so much hype surrounding him is because he is a hun. Scott Brown was our Barry Ferguson, however, that was of course OK

And as for the above poster suggesting there are much better strikers available than Kris Boyd..... deary me. Stats musn't mean that much nowadays :102:

FWIW, a strike force of Kris Boyd and Derek Riordan with McFadden and Maloney buzzing aboot them sounds good. But hey, what do I know

Seeing as how we are conceding points here I'll give you that one Grant. Boyd, whilst being a $#@! [not to mention a hun] is the best option we have as a striker imo.

I would rather have him than kenny miller any day of the week. He's a good striker, no doubt about that

    Re: ferguson & mcgregor

I think the SFA made a complete pigs ear of it, and how the hell Gordon Smith got his job/kept it is beyond me.

FWIW I'd take back Ferguson, as said before he is one of the better players we have and is playing weekly in the EPL. After seeing the complete guff Burley put out against Wales, I'd be happy letting him back in.

I'd agree with Boyd coming back in as Scotland will probably play 1 up front which means Kenny "0 goals in an entire qualification campaign" Miller would get dropped. It makes my blood boil seeing him play for Scotland.

McGregor I'd have back also. Gordon will be No.1, and I know Marshall played well against the Netherlands, but after Norway, Wales and the other disaster games he was involved in I would just break down and cry if he played again.

I don't know. Are you always fighting away hoardes of girls when you step out the door or a grumpy old balding git with a penchant for post-punk music who hasn't missed a cup tie home or away since 1985?
