    Dr Hugh Whyte

    Sadly passed away on Sunday.

Was with Hibs between 1974 1976, although I cant remember him at the club or of him speaking about it, before moving to Dunfermline where he became a bit of a goalkeeping legend, club doctor and involved in just about everything even up till recently with their former players.

I worked with Hugh a few years ago and my memories will be of a man with a permanent smile on his face, always willing to be helpful and an all round good guy.

Even if I cant remember his time at Hibs he was a genuinely nice person to know.

    Re: Dr Hugh Whyte

I vaguely remember him as a reserve keeper who played only a few first team games from when I was a nipper. Sad to see any former Hibs player passing away.

Very sad news indeed, played against Hugh regularly when he played for the Pars. Really good guy and a very good goalie.R.I.P
