The game is gonna be on Justin.tv - Live Streaming Video btw. The footy doctor one tends to give you a little virus.

It'll probably be on one of the celtic channels so you might have to put up with the sectarian crap
    Hibs.

Hibs are standing on the brink of history...
They've only gone and done it..
They've only gone and won The Scottish Cup.

Or that one if you want to listen to some Celtic fud swearing every second, moaning about the 'hun' players and giving abuse to the NI squad

Dreadful first half for both teams.

Scotland have had more touches of the ball but McFadden is a bit too greedy and kenny Miller is simply crap.

Hopefully deano and Fletch get onto the pitch

had a bit of a mental blank there, was thinking for some reason that the national team followers weren't into all that stuff. just remembered the whole Neil Lennon thing though.

do only protestants support the Northern Ireland team then?

the generalisation would be that catholics support the republic and protestants support Northern Ireland, although more and more catholics are starting to feel comfortable supporting NI in recent years. However the hardcore support base (particularly on away support) would still be protestant and loyalist.

can somebody please answer this question.......

Why the fook was Fletcher not put on in the 2nd half considering Miller was totally anonymous for the whole 90mins he played??????

    Mcfadden was good again

    Mcgregor's pen save was good

    Brown looked decent

Fletcher playing a holding midfield role' Have a word!!!!

    Commons did OK

Stewart was gash when came on, I just hate the canute!

Darren Barr I thought was very solid when he came on.

overall, it was good to see scotland pass the ball and not resort to the long ball tactic, but Burley you made a mistake with k.Miller!!!

An average player on the international scene. If you look at the talent Scotland overlooks after every squad announcement it comes as no shock Ivan is left out of the Northern Ireland team in comparison.

Think I'll need to do something about the brainwashing ye've been getting. Norn Iron 2 nil?! Generations of Wright's will be turning in their graves.

I thought Kenny Miller had a decent game aswell with balls being played into his feet and chest, being able to strongly hold off the challenger before bringing someone into play. Seen that a few times last night. I'm worried about Scotlands defence once injuries and call-offs surface.

Last nights game was a perfect chance for the pond life to come out. You can bet there was a fair amount of Huns among the support. The proper Norn Iron fans are probably stuck at home in the floods.

the generalisation would be that catholics support the republic and protestants support Northern Ireland, although more and more catholics are starting to feel comfortable supporting NI in recent years. However the hardcore support base (particularly on away support) would still be protestant and loyalist.
Off topic a wee bit, but does this explain why there is a Belfast boxer boxing for ROI at Olympics, or is he actually a migrant from the south sponging off the enhanced sports funding TEAM GB gets?

Last nights game was a perfect chance for the pond life to come out. You can bet there was a fair amount of Huns among the support. The proper Norn Iron fans are probably stuck at home in the floods.
    Sums it up well

More than a few Windsor Park regulars I know didn't go across to the game because they knew there'd be a fair few hangers-on in the support.

not neccessarily, Wayne McCullough one on NI's most successful ever boxers and he boxed for the Republican and he was a protestant from the Shankill road in the loyalist hearland of West Belfast.

I think you can choose who to represent, some might choose based on politics, religion or nationality some may choose on the the basis that there would be less compitition for a place with the republic than there would be with Great Britain

A few hangers on is a vast understatement.

Based on what? The supporters who were in Glasgow? Sure anyone from NI could have gone to that game, claiming to be an NI 'supporter', and many did. Its a totally different support to the normal home and away crowd these days.

I mean that there was more than just a few.

The loudest cheer of the night was the mutual one where Alan McGregor saved the penalty.

This more complex than I first thought. If it were a straight cultural preference, fair enough, but convenience sectarianism is pushing it a bit far.

That's why I'm looking forward to the return of proper international fixtures - most of the folk are season ticket holders and/or supporters' club members and take more pride in their behaviour.
