Only an excuse for a comedy more like! I used to like this programme but its becoming worn and dated with the same old "jokes". Ok laughing at bigotry was funny a while back but its overplayed now and besides the programme is just not funny anymore. MacAvennie and Dennis Law sketches were so tedious and the x factor bit was frankly embarrassing and if any of the rest it was funny then Ive missed it because I just got so bored I came onto computer to type this. Maybe you have to be drunk to appreciate it like I usually am?

Hopefully still game will brighten the evening up

The gorilla thing might have been funny if they hadn't used the picture in the promotional stuff, and given the joke away.

As for Still Game, I thought it was the poorest ever. Even worse than the Xmas one.

the problem is there is no new scottish comedy so we are just recycling the old jokes, but at least the still game guys know they have run there course , only an excuse have ran the coourse twice over, altho the monkey one was really funny (and living just down the road and having worked in larkhall) can appreciate it (even the kids play park is in red white and blue, christ they smash the ferkin green lights in traffic signals and the chemist had to change its colours (moss) because no one was using it (but i digress)

we need a good injection off scottish comdians and it's not happening

I thought what I've always thought about it - puerile sectarian pish. Cliched characters, cliched jokes, poor impressions.

I agree that it's got a bit tired lately... I used to love it when it first started along with the radio version, they were pure class.

I don't know if there is an English equivalent? (anyone know if the English have impersonators who do a purely Football show that we don't see in Scotland?)

I was going to say that the English have missed a trick if they don't do a version of this, but after thinking about it I realised that without the bigotry aspect there would be less material for them to lampoon down there despite the relatively larger league.

Maybe the English don't have the same level of focal point to pick on like we do?

The radio stuff was brilliant, and there wasn't anything else like it. Personally, I think the decline started when they moved to TV - increasing reliance on naff visual gags, instead of well scripted verbal humour. Maybe I'm just getting old, though.....

i agree, this is a common failin in quality radio humour that then transfers to the goggle box
