    Anyone Know Anything about Dingwall?

I am planning on applying to the Highland Theological College in Dingwall and am wondering if anyone knows anything about the area. Would not be coming for about 18 months, if I get in, just curious. I will be bringing one young one and a wife with me.

It is near Inverness which is something of a boom town at the moment. Of course from Dingwall the beautiful West Highlands (and islands) are on your door step.

Not too far from Tain (Glenmorangie Distillery), Inverness is a short drive away and great views over the Cromarty Firth which is on The Black Isle. I was up that way a few years back and visited Rogie Falls, Stromeferry, Lochcarron to name a few.

Thanks for the info. How much does a decent 2-bm "flat" cost and how hard do you think it would be for my wife to find a job?

Don't know but Dingwall is quite a small place, roughly 5000 folk live there. The economy in The Highlands is doing OK. There is a lot of construction activity and the population is rising through incomers. Tourism appears to be having a bad year and much of the employment is tourism related.

How much would a 2-bm flat cost in a small place, obviously I would be renting. 500, 600 pounds?

Try the local estate agents/letting agents although I think you might be on the high side there for a longish lease. If you do a google search you will come up with something. There might be folk based in Inverness who cover the Dingwall area.Keep in mind that the private rental market in the highlands is impacted by the number of houses that are on weekly holiday let's. I know who the agents are for Skye but not for Dingwall.

Inverness close enough to Dingwall for an "easy" commute?

My wife drives 30 miles a day now so that would not be bad. Thanks for all your help guys.

I tend to look upon it in a different way Cav. I had to spend the day shopping there on Saturday with the Mrs. If had to be away from Skye I would rather be at the holy ground. Could not wait to get back to Skye on Saturday night...........140 miles to buy a new fireplace ffs.
