James, there's one team in this league that holds a major vex over us. Just when we think we're onto a good thing, get a few results, get ourselves into a great league position or look good for a cup win, this team always pops up and beats us.

    The name o' the team?

Hibernian FC. We are our own worst enemy.

We have some of the best players in Scotland currently at Easter Road, why do you think every journo west o' the Pentlands is trying to punt them, but our consistant inconsistenances are our biggest let down.

I agree that there is'nt much competition to fear from the teams around/above us in the league but if we are going to do anything we must adopt a mean winning streak to do this.

No trying to be funny here dude but how exactly? Walter Smith left the huns having faced his first proper challenge from Celtic under Jansen, and promptly losing the league to them. The huns were spending so much more money than everyone else in the league that it was unreal. My own personal opinion of the huns under Smith previously was that he was tactically $#@!e and relied on contributions from Goram, Gascoigne, and Laudrup for many games in Scotland. It's stating the obvious but the huns do not have players just now even remotely in their class, and they are certainly not signing anyone like them soon cause they are brassic. In Europe the huns were paying as much wages as anyone outside of the very top clubs and were regularly horsed sideways.

Of course you could always look at Smiths record with Everton. 15th, 13th, and 16th in the league, and being put out of cups by the likes of Tranmere, Oxford, and Bristol Rovers. The Scottish media like to present his time down there as, at worst, reasonably succesful. It wasn't, it was fecking garbage, and most Everton fans see it that way as well. With less resources David Moyes came in and turned the club round.

He has done a decent job with Scotland. He has put players into their natural positions in a formation they understand, and he seems to have fostered a decent team spirit. The fact that he is deserting his country seems to have been pretty conveniently ignored by the hun fecking media though.

Walter Smith is a bawbag who thinks a magic cardigan, and the reintroduction of a drinking culture will sort out Rangers. It won't. They are systematically $#@!e.

Agreed! Think its gonna take more than Walter Smith to sort that $#@!e out. They were shocking yesterday! Although i think he will do a better job than PLG simply because he has more experience of the scottish game.
People are praising him for the job he has done at scotland and fair enough the results are getting a lot better, but he could hardly have done any worse than berti. The performances still leave a lot of room for improvement

Hibs wont finish top 3 because as soon as we have a wee run, we ruin it all by getting turned over by some crap like Falkirk. Happens all the time, and I have seen nothing to suggest it wont keep happening.

Re: Why now after todays performance should the hibs not be challenging with Rangers

Bringing back Uncle Walter is simply :Shrink24:

They are seeking to recapture past glories and I doubt if it will work. Wallie should stick to his part time position with the National side where his elder statesman role gives him a bit of credibility. Returning to the Hunnery will surely end in tears. Funny how it's been re-written now that he 'left for new challenges" as opposed to being hunted out when Murray noticed the team were all in their early 40's with no young players ready to replace them

However, the prodigal's return will provide a lucrative year or two for Wallie, Ally, Durranty, and any more of their mates that they can squeeze onto the payroll.

No doubt Butchery is also watching the proceedings with interest pending his glorious return.

The Glasgow Farce will be complete with post match interviews of the completely unfunny, rude, and "small ginger man syndrome" afflicted Soapies Boss followed by Big Terry explaining why the Huns are $#@! with blood pouring out of a Rab C head bandage whilst Super Ally capers grins and juggles on a unicycle in the background.

I found it funny tht our supports or a small minority think we can't beat the Gunts and Rangers in the league i think tht hibs are three players short of a strong consistant team. :YAYYY:
