    Murrayfield? ram it

I for 1 hate the thought of ever playing that lot at their 2nd home.
    semi/final/freindlies, NO WAY.
Any other folk feel the same??

    Re: Murrayfield? ram it

Going to Murrayfield wouldn't bother me, it's more convenient. Going to Glesga is pain in the arse at the best of times but if it was Hibs and Hearts fans I would imagine it to be far worse and more dangerous.

Hampden is a joke of a national stadium so why are people suddenly clamouring for us to play there,if the semi is played at murrayfield (which i very much doubt) then there will be more hibbies and it will be more convenient for the majority of fans.Just because the Gunts have played there in Europe a couple of times doesn't make a sh1te stadium.

Hampden is where the pain started for me 1972 final lost 6-1. Hampden is where we will bury the ghost and win it.

Yes if we get to the final it has to be played there regardless which i have no problems with.I just don't understand this anti-murrayfield pish which has suddenly been started over the possibilty of playing the semi there

    Re: Murrayfield? ram it

Hampden is a massive pitch which will no doubt give us the chance to create more space for more time on the ball and for sproule to try and run riot.

Hampden may be critisised by some but for me it just has some sort of feel to it that makes it good for the game.

The Gunts can ram Murrayfield up their erse and make the trip tae Hampden.

More than a month to it and already I am an emotional wreck.

Well see when you look at the likes of the Milenium Stadium and what Wembly is going to be like when it's finished it is a joke of a national stadium. With the amount of money spent on it i think its a joke that that was the best thing they could come up with With regards to stadia in Scotland it is the third biggest and this is the National Stadium C'mon man i know that it has a certain allure about it and i don't give a toss if we play there or murrayfield but what i can't understand is this anti-murrayfield stance that some people are taking

Thumbs up Re: Murrayfield? ram it

I'd be quite happy if it was at Murrayfield. Larger capacity means more hibbies in it. The pitch is wide and would suit our style of play.

No additional travelling costs and it would be bouncing. Hampden for me isn't a great stadium for atmosphere, but 67'000 at Murrayfield would be a slight I would never forget.

The saving on travel means more time in the boozer with the additional cash you didn't spend on travel turned into bevvy.

    Win, win for me.

I still dont see your problem, the Millennium is superb , state of the art, paid for by football lottery rugby and anyone else who fancied puttin into the pot. Wembley should be good at 6 times more fkin expensive and 3? times longer to build.
A full Hampden is a fantastic stadium to be in, the only downfall is its location and Stormtroopers, i dont know what it cost but it is far superior to CP or Ibrox IMO

Apart from the rugby bit we had the same sort of funding and we have a stadium that doesn't compare to it.

Also i have never complained about it being played at hampden if u read my previous posts on the subject. All i'm wondering is why there are people so dead against the idea of Murrayfield and are all of a sudden hailing Hampden. As i said before i don't really care where its played. All i want is to see my beloved Hibernian reach the final

im not implying you said you didnt want it played at Hampden,i just personally think its a great stadium (not a patch on Murrayfield), but i have been to Hampden on and off for the last 30 years and still think its the place to be for football. Certainly No Joke

What with the $#@! early start on a Sunday, the Murrayfield option is more attractive now. I don't go with the advantage tae Hearts stuff. We were stick ons against Livingston and the Arabs but that 'advantage' didnae seem tae bother them. It's just a nice big fitba park in a smashin stadium. Even Hibs couldnae $#@! up ticket allocation with everyone being satisfied. Only 20 minutes back tae Leith tae party.

If we can beat the huns at Hampden in a semi-final and TBH that is more a home game for the huns than Murryfield is for the hertz, I'm pretty sure we can win at Murryfield.

Hampden is a joke of a national stadium
At least Scotland has a national football stadium of their own. Ireland's FAI so fecking incompetent when it comes to running our football affairs we're groundsharing and getting fcuked by the egg-chasers and have no ground of our own.

Hampden is also where we won 2 League cups and they haven't won a cup final there since 1962...The Beatles had released their first single...McMillan was Prime Minister...JFK was US president..Princess Di hadn't been born yet

The issue of where we play, seems a ready made excuse for the fear of being beat. T Mowbray quoted the falkirk pitch the same for both teams, in other words lets get on with it, 12.15 KO makes me think Murrayfields ideal, id play the Gunts on top of Drumbrae hill in a gale force wind with nae clothes on for a chance to bring the cup back to Easter Road, bring it on.

Amigo, their fans will be $#@!ting themselves at the thought of defeat at our hands as much as we are at theirs, no matter where the game is played. Make no mistake about that.

Spot on mate. We only had 7,000 hardy souls through that night tae.

    BIG G
The backing from the fans that night was superb from start to finish.

However, also seen more horror shows at Hampden than the cinema.

Murrayfield makes sense in every respect.

Vital][/B]l for Hibees that game played at Hampden the big pitch will suit us not them.
Stuff the little extra cash, which is divided by 4 anyway,we want to win.

    Re: Murrayfield? ram it

Having seen three games at Murrayfield, some observations.

The sight lines in the lower tier are absolutely pish, seating far too shallow, which is fine for the ****s who watch Rugby and never stand-up but not much good for thousands of 'excitable' fans.

Segregation would be a major pain in the arse.

The pitch was pretty big, and could be made longer or wider than it was for Hearts games there. maybe slightly smaller than Hampden.

No pie stands, just daft kiosks. in fact, no pies at all.

good atmosphere, would be rocking with 67,000 there.

Hearts don't have a great record there.

    it's not in Glasgow.

To be honest, in an ideal world i'd rather see it played at Hampden. then again, an ideal world wouldn't involve 50,000 punters on the way back from Glasgow, half of them severely pissed off. So i'd probably just favour Murrayfield, but it's certainly not because I think it would be an advantage to Hearts to play there, (well, maybe a wee psychological edge because Hibs fans mainly want Hampden, although that could of course work against us if Hibs adopted a siege mentality), at the end of the day they could play it in Leith Links and i'd still be there, and still be expecting Hearts to win.

You make some good points TS, but I've chosen to highlight this part of your post because it's what I've been thinking all day

I can't see any common sense in playing this at Hampden, and, let's be honest, who actually likes the damn place?

    Cheers

Nah, I've stood on the Murrayfield pitch mair times than Hertz, there's nae advantage for them, the Gunts might talk it up as such, but it's crap.

Hibbys should fear the Hertz at no venue, bring it.
