    Lennon charged for celebration

As it says on the tin. Looking at a 4 match ban. 2 for this and 2 suspended from before.

Meanwhile the deaf ear to sectarianism continues to hear less than van Gogh.

Let's hope the club highlights what they were singing to him. But SFA not interested. The SFA that Rod is at the top of that organisation. An organisation that does nothing about old firm secteranism.

It will be the SPFL doing anything around this will it not?

Otherwise I'm in agreement. Neil Lennon will be disciplined, sectarian behaviour condoned.

No. It's always the SFA who deal with discipline issues. They provide the national rules, the officials and the sanctions.

Lenny should tell them he refuses to acknowledge any ban until they take action over the huns singing their party tunes. I'd love for that to happen.

I wonder: substitute clearly heard, continuous anti-Catholic sectarian chanting for the same level of racist or anti-Semitic chanting - would Lennon's equivalent get the book thrown at him? Or would the media etc rally around in support? Would the supporters in question be glossed over?

I think we all know the answer to that. Only in Scotland.

There was a police cameraman filming them the whole time. He could request the footage and give it as supporting evidence.

He should see a lawyer and refuse to answer the charge unless charges are bought against the hun board regarding the behaviour of their supporters. Can't see any way out really as I believe the SFA/SPFL rule book is not challengable in the courts.

They've had over a hundred years to address this issue and not one step forward in all that time.

    Protest march to Holyrood?

The message continues to be it’s not okay to react to sectarian abuse, but it’s perfectly okay to perpetrate sectarian abuse.

If it had been racist abuse the whole situation would have been handled oh so differently. I hope the Club and Lennon make a strong and very defiant rejection.

I thought at one point they were singing “Neil Lennon, we thought you were dead” - horrible considering his mental health issues. Add in the “sad fenian $#@!” song and of course a rendition of “the billy boys” and it should be plenty to throw the book at them, especially given the number of Police Scotland officers with body cams standing facing them for 90 minutes.

Or the SPFL could punish a manager for celebrating a dramatic equaliser in a cracking game of football.

It was something like that, as the banner said, Hun Scum.

Ian McCall the ex player of the club that died seems a decent sort and tonight on BBC Sportsound he made more about the sectarianism Neil Lennon was subjected to than any media pundit/journalist has made on the same show or any other for that matter.

Actually he never mentioned sectarianism once, although I do think he is a good guy and whilst he played for the Huns (and behaved like he is one by $#@!ing in someone elses shoe), I dont think he is one.

Tom English and Michael Stewart both did mention sectarianism directed at Neil last night as the weasly huns at the BBC avoided talking about it.

To be fair yeah he didn't mention sectarian word just implied it through making the point about the abuse. I only heard Tom English last night refer to the banner in the Hibs end and I then at that point switched off.

Will catch up on the iPlayer. What nobody is mentioning is that this is the second Hibs manager in quick succession these bigoted scum bags have been singing sectarian songs to.

How about just letting people sing what they want and letting the players and staff give it a right GIRUY when they win. I can't say I've ever come away from a football game greetin about what the big bad boys have been singing. I remember as a youngster seeing a grown man in his 40s climb front of the terracing screaming at Robbo.... "John Clarks fuking your wife" I remember being confused and wondering if he really was nailing Robbo's wife.

    He was.

And that could have been me.

Doing the screaming I mean, not shagging Robbo’s wife or being nailed by big John Clark.

Although either alternative would also have me screaming.

Aye that has no place in the game, but all the offense to the word "fenian" and "hun" it's an absolute nonsense to me. Just a bunch of arse holes singing pishy songs. The players don't give a monkeys, I certainly never have. Footballs always had an edge to it, let's not take that away.

Is it cool for arsenal fans to hiss at spurs fans then? Hillsbourgh? Heysel? Big Jock Knew? Munich? Ibrox stair disaster?

Where is the line drawn if celebrating famine and being a catholic is ‘alright’?

None of its alright, but absolutely nothing that's chanted at a football match is ever going to offend me. I'll shake my head at half of it, but it's not going to affect me in any way shape or form. We had fans singing some nasty stuff about Fernando Ricksen the other day. Might not have heard it on TV, but a friend of mine that's a cop was telling me.

Singling out a player for racist chants and the likes is bang out of order. That should never happen. But a few thousand morons chanting and trading barbs, couldn't care less. Does it make it right? Naw. Do I give a rats arse hearing the weedge blasting out the sash, and wading around in catholic blood or whatever, nope, not the slightest. Have at it, does nothing to me.

I was listening to Clyde last night and while they acknowledged Neil had taken abuse they seemed to think if the compliance officer who reports on the whole match day not just the 90 mins of football doesn't comment on the sectarian abuse directed at Neil in his report then trouble is heading Neils way way. Possibly a 4 match ban, 2 that were already hanging over him plus a 2 game ban for the aeroplane.

Would love Hibs to get the Video footage from the police and play that to the committee that will look to put a ban in place and ask them honestly what they think of that.

As i suspected though, most if not all of the media attention is focused on the banner in the FF. Anything to deflect from their songbook. Not unexpected sadly.

As much as I admire the man and respect immensely his intelligence and fortitude when it comes to managerial disipline then Lenny is just a loose cannon who at certain moments just cant control himself.

Sitting on a two match suspended ban and he decides to swan onto the pitch is just downright stupidity and he is going to be very lucky to get away with it as by the letter of the law he is going to miss the next 4 games.

Plead provocation by all means but "Scotlands Shame 2012" vile and sectarian, racist and evil songbook is no different to that of "Scotlands Shame 1872" and in over 100 years precisely nothing has been done about it.

UEFA to their credit made an effort but the Scottish football authorities are craven cowards who won't dare take this on.

The people who should take this on in this instance are Leanne and Rod who should have issued a statement post match apologising for the managers conduct but highlighting the extreme provocation.

As always when it comes to "Scotlands Shame 2012" Leanne doesnt want to know and "The Dear Leader" is certainly not going to rock any boats with the football authorities.

    Both parties future employment prospects
    dictate keeping stumm.

I'm kinda with slov, he knew what would happen. However although I didn't actually see it at the time as I was too busy celebrating, I found the whole thing funny and some people need to chill on both sides. I don't of course agree with the bigotry, but banter makes the game funny. Remember the game where we slagged a jambo player...*oh Paul Hartley is gay* he had an absolute stinker that day and we won. What some feel is ok, others dont. And I get the fact managers should be a little more professional but I love all that stuff and so long as he didn't run right up to their end, I don't give a monkeys and accept he will be banned for a while
