Just Back and that was eye bleeding guff

    Just Back and I'm disappointed.

Disappointed at a number of things.

Disappointed at the manner of the defeat tonight against a team of hammer throwers and the hard of thinking.

Disappointed (but not surprised) that yet again a referee allowed the game to deteriorate into the stop-start, niggly, snidey spectacle it did. Disappointed that the player who ended up scoring the winner ought not to have been been on the park had amother referee done their job properly at the weekend.

Disappointed that we're now almost certain to finish 4th bar a 6-0 humping of the Orcs.

Disappointed that we now rely on Celtc to get the European sortie our efforts this season deserve.

Disappointed that the manager appears to be making unnerving remarks in the shadow of the final whistle.

Disappointed that he got his line up and tactics wrong. Why tell us pre-match how narrow the game will be played and then play into their hands with our formation?

Disappointed most, perhaps, that key players just didn't turn up. Either didn't have the legs or the fight needed on the night.

Disappointed...and unsure of how we lift ourselves and the team for Sunday. But lift them and us we must.

I'm disappointed my last Just Back of a long, long season has resulted in having to relay the outcome and associated sentiments. Nearly 30 Just Back reports I've scribbled in chunky crayon, often after long journies home or like this one, late at night and this is not the hardest to do but it definitely wasn't the way I wanted to sign off for the summer.

I'm not going to dissect the game. You will all know and/or have seen what happened. Aussie rules meets whatever it takes. Horrible, turgid, snide, time wasting, cheating anti-football. But we just didn't rise above it. We didn't come close.

    The players

Rocky - some Rocky moments at corners.
Lewis - at fault, with Paul, for the opener. Set up the equaliser by forcing the issue leading to the penalty and had no protection from Barker all night.
Hanlon- oh dear, what a night to have as dodgy a game as he's had in ages. At fault, I think, for both goals. Wrong side of Laughing Boy both times. Subbed. How often do you think that will happen.
Darren - nearly took the 7ft Flautists heid off. Had the chance to get a late equaliser but saw the headlines before actually doing the simple stuff to make them
Efe- the best at the back, for me
SJM - oh my. I don't know what to say.
Allan - some moments of class and the best bits came from him but he didn't have enough support
Boyle - not involved enough, out wide and isolated
Whittaker - worked hard but the midfield was so disjointed
Barker - it's the hope that kills me every time
    Kamberi - isolated, poor service

Dylan- if he is away as we fear I know not how we replace him
Slivka - great first run and then heehaw
McLaren - no time to do anything

Lennon- you got it tactically wrong. What a time to do that.

Referee - thank Sauzee you've now retired. Don't let the door hit yet erse on the way out. They played you like a banjo, every single 6 fingered one of them

I'm really struggling with a MotM tonight. Really. Easier to say who it wasn't.

    Over and out.

Dylan was probably our MOM. Sadly he didn't have enough support from the rest of the team. SJM missing for large spells of the match. Allan certainly tried.

Whittaker in particular was awful again, I honestly can't see what Lenny sees in him. Surely Bartley or even Slivka would have been a better option.

Tactically and formation wise we got it wrong. As we found out earlier in the season, the lone striker with supporting wingers doesn't suit the players we have.

How the Jumbos 66 never got booked/sent off I can't understand. Bunch of cheating $#@!s.

Not half. Gutted. Hard reading that J but it's bang on the money. This season needs celebrated but I can't help but feel tonight a hell of a lot has changed.

Can't argue with any of that. I would add to the list of disappointments:

    - Boyler getting injured looked like his hamstring. Bless the guy I can't remember when he was out of the side last. Maybe a bit of fatigue there?
    - Hanlon arguing with Lenny after being substituted. I think it was as a sacrifice for a striker not his performance?

It was a shocker, but Hibees let's not implode like the inbreeds on keekback after a defeat.

Nae implosion here. Just calling it as it was and felt at the game.

Did Hanlon argue with Lennon? Take it that was shown on tv? Didn't see it at the game - what was the jist of it?

That must’ve been hard to write @SKII well done. I could barely speak about it, let alone write about it. Thanks @1875 for ensuring I was there - maybe bin me next time. How are we so bad at Tynecastle?

Must get up for Sunday, but this was a bitter blow.

Cheers SKII. Regarding SJM, I think the scumbos actually fouled him into submission. It was ridiculous, the Adao foul alone was an assault. There was another moment where they committed maybe 5 fouls on him in the space of a few seconds yet nothing was given.

Just watched the highlights. Laughing boy throws himself to the ground to get the free kick and CT duly obliges.

NL got his line up all wrong tonight he should have started with the same starting 11 from Saturday. Saying that our game changing players didn’t turn up tonight and we played into their hands as for some reason we never looked up for the fight. The night’s of all nights to put a performance as poor as that isn’t acceptable, they are brutal cheating thugs and CT was him usual $#@!ty self too.

lets not kid ourselves it’s been an amazing season and we go again on Sunday.

Lennon got caught between playing our own game and attempting to match up against their strengths and failed at both.

If we're going to play our own game, play our best player from the start. If we're going to match up to their strengths, play Bartley from the start. What's happened to Bartley anyway?

To go to the narrowest pitch in football and play 2 wide men seems counterintuitive to me? The pitch is narrow, match up narrow?

    Take my advice - don't. I wish I hadn't.

I think Hanlon is as much at fault. His defending allowing the Laffery dive for the free kick is brutal.

He was on the wrong side of Lafferty for the first but Lewis should have easily cleared the ball and didn't so I hold him more responsible. The free kick that wasn't was well taken and Lewis allowed Naismith to just run away from him and get a free header so I'm blaming him for that one as well.

I've seen comments on twitter about Naismith being offside at the goal. If he was it was by a bawhair and I wouldn't be complaining too much about that as it wasn't a clearly obvious offside [If he even was].

Lewis is usually Mr reliable but he chose the wrong day to play the worst he has in a while. I'm not going to castigate him too much as he has been solid for us for a long time.
