    Welcome to Pittodrie

Forgot to mention last night because I was knackered but the policing at the game yesterday seemed a bit over the top.

Especially at the turnstiles. Discussed it with 1875 at the time and we were both bemused by folks' interaction at the turnstiles.
I don't know if things were intelligence led but it seemed disproportionate to the risk?

Inside the ground our neighbours- or at least the 6 of them who went to Pittodrie last week - had left wee stickers on the seats for us. Looked like they had used the Celtc banner writer to help them. Bless.

Walked up to the first set of barriers and a steward asked me to hand over my hat, asked why and was told they wanted to check it for contraband. Asked what kind of contraband and they couldn’t provide an answer, so I declined. Steward #2 then grabbed it off my head, gave it a quick look and handed it back.

Told her she was a strange wee person and walked on. She shouted to the police to stop and search my hat. Police officer stops me and asks for my hat, told him there was no chance of him checking my hat- again- and just kept walking.

Yet again, football fans treated like criminals. Pathetic.

They were funnelling folk in on a male and female basis too so they could do full body searches. Not done with any degree of sensitivity or de-escalation strategies. Seriously done with more humour at Ibrox this season.

One who stopped me had a right soor face on, I asked him if he was angry he was working for £5 an hour?

I do think their intel was based on a large old CCS presence, most of the guys are in their late 40's, early 50's and were there to support Hibs and in respect of Mickey Neri who sadly passed away earlier this week.

They insisted that me and my 12 year old son unrolled our scarves that we were carrying "in case there is anything inside".

    Really!?

They refused to search me, although I volunteered.

I'd had a bath, and was pretty clean looking so I don't know why I missed out.

Brutal way to treat any fan of a sport. Wouldn’t see that in a rugby game or any other sport. They surely can’t still be reeling about the events of that famous day in may

One of the stewards was arguing with a younger lad when I was walking down the crumbling steps, (our bus was a bit late so I'd missed KO and was rushing), the lad nudged into me and knocked me over and down the stairs. What's the point in having banisters when they line stewards and police along them meaning you can't grab them if you lose your balance! Surely they could stand on the other side! My leg is in some state now, but all they were interested in was how much I'd had to drink

Indeed. They arrested a Sheep for sectarianism on Saturday. Of course, they'll be busy on that front tomorrow, won't they?
