1st team and the Hibs development team.

First of all well done the Hibs Development Team.

I've only seen them a couple of times so defer to those that are regulars.

I've heard the mantra that the development team is not about winning it's about the development of the 'next generation'. Winning is less important. Indeed it's not important!

The last time we skooshed something at this level nothing came of the squad. I'm sure the statos will call a point of order but I'm pretty sure they all got binned!

We're in a different era now.

Neil Lennon apparently takes a huge interest in the young team and he's not been shy to use them.

Was it Alex Ferguson who once said something along the lines of if you get one player a season that makes it into the first team the development department have done well?

With this lot I feel we're in the realms of something special.

    So ...

Anyone willing to stick their neck out and give us a rundown of those young champions likely to break through?

Do we have a platinum generation coming through?

    Random thoughts.

We handle the development differently/better now.

I never watch them but went along last night, they play a terrific style of football if that was the norm.

There's 3 guaranteed 1st teamers in that squad ( barring injury) Porteous obviously- i think he'll play for Scotland. Fraser Murray will become a 1st team regular, maybe not next season, but the season after that and Oli Shaw. Spoke to an ex player after the game and he thinks if shaw can bulk up he's got everything to become a really top professional.

Other than that, I thought the other centre back, number 5 looked great and the 10 also.

We looked significantly better than Aberdeen, so unsure if they're a decent gauge.

Agree with all of that, their number 7 looked a prospect - most likely out of their team to succeed IMO.

they didn't use him enough in the first half and sorely missed him when he went off at HT.

Impressed by all of them in spells. Mackie, Porteous, F Murray, Gullan and Shaw could step up immediately and the rest not far behind.

They should all be looking to stay in football if not at Hibs.

I was impressed by those mentioned already and also by Ben Stirling in midfield (number 8 last night I think). Dabowski in goal looked good as well, looks very confident.

Porteous really does look like he could be something special though.
Seems like there's a hole in my dreams, or so it seems

I feared for our number 3 in the first 25 minutes, looked like he was going to have a torrid evening. Think the aberdeen 7 took a sore one, after his terrific goal he was anonymous and subbed at half time?

he won a free kick not long after his goal and pulled up then.
