Played very well again sitting in midfield, has a wee bit more composure and awareness on the ball than Marv, I would still prefer Marv in the big games though.

Wouldn't be a massive shock if Marvin left in the summer. He'll want to play if he's going to live in Scotland.

I’ve got a list somewhere of hibs players with greatest gaps between first and last appearance.

Iirc Peter cormack tops it followed by Gordon smith and now Steven Whittaker.

    Who minds his debut?

Yeah, could be right, how long left on his contract? I’d like to keep him for one more season, he’s very good in the games against Sevco/Gunts/Sheep etc but not as so efficient against lesser teams for obvious reasons. Still a great type of player to have though.

Think so. Look at hibs stats website on the bench in may 2002. First start away to Motherwell Aug 2002? 16 years ago. Incredible achievement.

Understand where yer at, especially with 5 mins on the clock but for me a clever Professional foul taking the boy down on the slide fae behind as he approached the box - booking all day for me and a good one.

Didn't stop him getting in about it and was impressed with his influence on the game.

Could maybe get one season out of him in there if form and fitness maintains.

Funny, I thought he was poor last night, he got in Dylan's way for much of the game.

Thought he was pretty poor too. Didn't offer a whole going forward or tracking back. Our two center halfs pressed forward and contributed more that he did.

He's more mobile than Bartley and technically better but he'd not get away with it against better sides than Partick and Hamilton.

I thought he was fine. And as a side note, probably the most two-footed player we have.

Why don't you think he could not play against better teams?

I thought it was a booking too.

The referee was less keen to apply the laws later into the game or we could have been up against 9 men.
He was decent last night; his passing and mobility are superior to Marv, but I'd look to Marvin when we are up against the Huns, Mini-Huns, or Sheep when the going gets rough.

Positionally. For the games where we need more defensive balance to the midfield Id still prefer Bartley. Like others have suggested he got in the way at times because it's not his natural position.

It was his natural position, just been a while since he played It’s one game so I’m not going to judge against Bartley, but competition is great to have

Considering how long he has been out for and the type of injury it was I thought he played quite well against Hamilton. He is clearly still getting back to full match fitness, but the signs are good. I think he will be an important player in the run in to the season.

Scottish internationalist played at high level. Can play that position easily. I didn't think got in anyone's way. Hopefully if Whitty gets back to full fitness be a new signing
