    Empty seats...

In the North and East stands on a regular basis. Now I had a look at the seating plan for both stands prior to the match yesterday and your talking 3-5 seats per block if any that were free. The home section was supposed to be more or less sold out.

What I'm noticing is it's usually the same seats every week in the North that are empty yet they are sold when you check online. Have people genuinely bought tickets and just don't go? Or is there a ticketing glitch with the systems we use?

Hibs have said on average 10% of season ticket holders don't turn up. I reckon with it being Easter that will be higher for these two games with folk being away.

I also know Hibs have written to regular non attendees basically saying where the F are you? This has lead to a bit of a stooshie on dotnet for various reasons, the other main one being around non young (family) groups being told their seats in the family section may not be available to them for much longer.

I had a spare adult and child ticket for the west lower, I struggled to give them away, although I did make an elderly american visiting for the first time a Hibby for life I think?

On another note, it was a Hibs kids day so many folk will have had to move to the south with guest kids?

Is the FF lower where the £25 STs are?

Is it folk buying them nominally in the name of a kid but not really with the intention of using it much? Or is it folks buying a cheap ticket to upgrade if and when they want the seat or a ticket for the bus shelter? Or what?

It's a tricky one if folk outgrow the area because their kids are no longer children. But if that's the area designated for growing the next generation then it should be freed up for that next generation? We had a few seasons in the FF when the laddies were wee but none of us cared for it. View in the lower is poor. Upper a bit better but you take a month to get out at the end of the game. We moved as soon as the kids hit the youth category and wouldn't go back. Always preferred a side on view to the pitch and have renewed the seats we have in the West Upper for the third season running. We were in the West Lower before that but the folk behind us were so negative I thought one or both of my dafties were going to explode at some point. It was spoiling our enjoyment of the game. I got over my fear of heights as a nice consequence

Why are folk upset over the road?

I've bought a youth season ticket knowing it'll not be used much if at all in the past. I did so to give the club a wee bit extra cash and if my laddie ever got into fitba. Now I usually find someone so I can upgrade to an adult.

What's the crack with folks in the middle section of Upper FF getting letters saying they're getting shifted for 2018/19 season?

Greedy or simply exploiting every route to making money like most clubs? Are the seats not already dearer anyway?

Don't think they've been dearer since they stopped the hospitality in the FF (presumably in preparation for the health hub fiasco)

When the NHS health hub opens there won't be hospitality facilities in FF stand. Could fans reps give an update on current position.

Not that far over I’m afraid - just heard rumours of hospitality in the black seats but nothing’s nothing definite to report.

Basically they've been there forever through good times and bad. Why should they be forced to move to seats nobody else wants, the leftovers! What about the larger groups, available seats in the other stands are in 2s and 3s. Some single adults go with friends who have kids but not grouped together, what happens to them. A few other issues I can't remember.

There is actually a waiting list for young families to get in there.

Hibs want to concentrate the kids activities in one area - the family area.

They're the super comfy premium seats and currently the same price as standard plastic seats. Hibs want to charge a premium for them.

Still on the cards but there seems to be some sort of problem with the NHS side that is causing the delay.

I don't really want to be negative yesterday but was disappointed with the number of empty seats. What's the script there? The ticket site showed almost a complete sell-out. Presumably then they must be seats of season holders that don't go? I guess there is no financial incentive for the season ticket holder to give up their seat for a match they won't be attending? Maybe there should be i.e. a refund for the season ticket holder that gives up their seat for a particular match? The club would not lose out because they could sell the seat on. Alternatively, and more palatable for the club, only give a season ticket holder a refund if the seat is resold. Surely there are better minds than mine thinking about this?

There was no demand for hibs to resale seats. Plenty left in the Dunbar end. What is interesting is consistently you get say a dozen or so seats in a row unused in FF lower. This pattern is repeated sporadically in FF lower.

Except the £25 type tickets. Wide open to abuse for a refund system.

Thanks for that. So Hibs want to charge more for comfy seats. Can't see the difficulty there? On one hand people moan about ambition or player budget but when the club do something to generate income it's often not welcome. I don't know if folk still hanker over a rich benefactor splashing the cash but the reality for most Scottish clubs is that the fans are the main source of income. Unlike other richer leagues with better tv and sponsorship deals.

It's tough when folk are not getting pay rises and costs are rising. Credit to everyone who is pitching up every week. Our support renaissance is remarkable against that backdrop.

Having renewed again for next season, the outlay is now skiffing the thousand pounds mark. Thank Sauzee for the payment plan. I can remember the sense of feeling a bit sick at the thought of it when it was 500, 600 and so on. In the cold light of day, breaking the grand barrier will be something else. Add to that the 3 ASTs renewed then you're looking at spending about £2000 next season on following Hibs. Thank Sauzee for the football free month of June.

But at the end of the day it's the choice we make and it's facilitated by doing without other things. I'm glad that whilst thinking too much about the costs brings palpitations, I can manage. And I reckon if it keeps the likes of Lennon and Co at ER for a wee while longer, it's a price worth paying. I really don't fancy the Butcher/Fenlon/Calderwood cycle again.

Just as well I'm not much of a drinker, don't smoke and am happy with beans on toast

Tell you what though. Summer football, often discussed by folk looking for solutions to the state of our game, would make this all the more obvious. If you played March to November you'd hit holiday time most of the way through. Not sure how many folk would bother with STs knowing they might miss 3 or 4 games? Also other things compete for our social time in the summer.
Hibs are standing on the brink of history...

I spotted that yesterday. Could be a family on holiday? That's why you're just Wannabe uExcept the £25 type tickets. Wide open to abuse for a refund system. Thanks for that. Could be families away. But seems too many seats in a row vacant and it's not a one off. It shows the importance of pricing season tickets correctly. So the money is banked IRO is fan makes game. For me £25 ticket is too cheap.
