    Hibernian v Murderwell

Nae thread on the night before a game, so just fresh in fi London and reading the weeping and wailing as or Tony gets his jotters, I thought some comments on the morn's nights game are worthwhile.

I would look to go with a similar team shape as Saturday, but with a couple of personnel tweaks, bringing in Swanson, McLaren and Murray.

    Team for me:

    Ofir
    Efe Daz Paul Lewis
    McGeouch McGinn Slivka
    Swanson
    McLaren and Murray

Rest an out of form Boyler, bring Brenda Barker and young Olly on as impact subs?

    Thoughts?

4312 works for me, we're good in the middle and we need to freshen up.

Slivka and Swanson would support the front two, who I'd expect to fill out wide where required.

If the Swiss dude is signed as said elsewhere, a wee cameo later on would be nice. It's about time we started seeing what we've signed. Rherras too maybe, switching to a flat 3 and him and Lewis pushing on.

I like that team Mark but I think he will go with Shaw and possibly the new Swiss guy who has physical presence apparently. I'm thinking there's something strange re McLaren... even in the media conference today it's like he was an after thought... maybe just me but I just feel something isn't quite right...

Can't really remember how Motherwell set up?

I'm tempted to say go with that, but mebbe Barker for Murray? I just worry that if we don't we'll be passing the ball about between the D and the centre circle for 90 minutes, stressing about losing a goal!

As I've said on another thread, we really could do with a lift; and what would give us all a lift is a convincing home win for once. Way too many nervy, close games of late.

Important game and one we need to get 3 points in so unless anyone will be struggling to perform Wednesday/Saturday I wouldn't be changing too much. I'd agree with resting Boyle or Barker but definitely stick with central midfield 3 with Slivka benefitting from more match time.

I definitely want to see the new boys get a run out ASAP though. Rherras should get a run at right back if he is decent going forward as we have nothing in full back positions really although Efe sometimes pulls out the odd marauding run.

Was surprised that McLaren didn't look too quick at Parkhead. Couple of occasions I was expecting him to show a burst but was sadly lacking. Maybe more just a penalty box threat than someone who can also run in behind a defence that I had anticipated. We'll see a lot more of him that the cameo at Parkhead though so might be wrong.

I started thinking about the game on Monday.

I got a phone call from a London number and my first thought was to dingy it but I never. I answered it.

    Hello is that Jack?

    Who's calling?

My name's Bob, from the Hibs Lotto.
[I immediately think how much is the minimum they'd phone you for.]

    You won ...
    [Ya fecking beauty]
    ... 2
[2, I've won 2. 2 what? Thousand? Hundred thousand? Million?]
    ...tickets for Wednesday. Congratulations!

    Tears and snotters!

    Blah blah blah.

See the next time you phone could you make it a couple of million?

    lol I wish I could.

3-0 To the famous Edinburgh Hibernians. Bet on 12/1. Really hope wee Danny starts, grabs a couple and kicks on from there. Let's take the opportunity to get more space between us and they horrible chancers.

    Hibs win.

    Gunts 7 points behind.

Hun fans travel all the way to Fraserburgh, get their buses stopped en route by the polis and bevvy confiscated only to arrive and find they're not getting in with genuine tickets because their fellow 'bears' have got there before them with forgeries and are locked out in the freezing cold dark.😂😂😂

If Carlsberg did Wednesday nights, they'd top it off by telling Scott Allan to $#@! off.
    Game's rigged, why bother?

Bum given a good squeak towards the end there... but trois points is twa' mair than a draw in any language.

What a bizarre day; think I need a wee lie-doon.

Afore I do, here's what I would like to loudly whisper in Efe's shell-like once in a while:

"Paaaaannniiiiccccccccc!!!!!!!! and jist boot it anywhere!!!!!!!"

Hope the wee judas hun Allan got the reception from the fans he deserved

You honestly don't think he will add quality to our midfield?

So what he got his head turned by the bread man, it happens in football, I am delighted to have him back and I know NL won't put up with any $#@!e.

There’s more to it that quality, just ask Stokes...

Scott Allan will have to do an awful lot to regain the faith of the Hibernian support, some will never back him, but some will forgive if he performs to level we know he can ... ripping the huns to shreds on Saturday would be a good start.

Couldn't care less what he brings to the team. To me, he brings back all that ill feeling. To quote the $#@!e that follow follow the team he really wants to play for "Never forget, never forgive"

In NL I trust to get the best out of Scott Allan and to ensure his attitude and work rate is second to none.

Stokesy was a fanny when he came to the club the first time, he never learned from it and made stupid decisions which has cost him his job here, Scott Allan didn't make the same decisions as Stokesy, he got his head turned and yes he made bad judgements but hardly the same as Stokesy.

Are you havin a laugh? You're happy to forget his collusion with the most hated organisation on the face of the planet? (Well to me they are) and you think Stokes did worse? If he plays on Saturday I'd expect him to stick the ball in our net rather than theirs

Scott Allan at an early age chose money & splinters in his arse over playing regular football. Hibs have him a platform to revive his career, which he duly did, then tried to force through a move to his boyhood hero’s / our title rivals. When that didn’t work he again chose money & splinters.

So his decisions may not be the same as Stokes’, but his failure to learn is all too similar.

I’ll welcome his quality as a player, and like any signing hope he improves us, but he’d have to do an awful lot to win most of us over.

As I've kinda already said on the Scott Allan thread: Allan is a waster as is Stokes. Different types of loose cannons, but both spectacularly failing to make what they could've from their careers..
The difference is that's Stokesy for all his failings had still managed to win leagues, cups and international caps AND play on the highest stage in Europe.
Allan, admittedly a few years younger, has done nowt. Hee haw.
Quite how Lenny's going to get the best out of the guy who's achieved nothing when he couldn't get it from the guy that's been there and done it I've no idea (and doubt very much).
But I really hope I'm wrong and the money grabbing, Judas rat $#@! does us a turn for the rest of the season.

I hate them as much as you believe me, all I was pointing out was Stokesy's issues were nothing like Scott Allan's.

For all his past mistakes I still believe that Scott Allan is the forward thinking player we are in need of mate, if NL thinks he can get the best out of him and his attitude is a lot better then it's a win win for us.

I agree he's the type of player needed, just not him in particular.

On the sheer hatred I have of the Huns, you ever been threatened and called a fenian $#@! by your own family members? My crime? To refuse to learn how to play the black flute and be a Hibs supporter.

That game against the Huns shows what a talented player he is, same against the Gunts at the PBS when he set up Jase to score.

If we get Scott Allan as that type of player what isn't to like and get excited about.

Not a great fan of bringing Allan back tbh, but the half dozen fannies singing how much they hate him over and over during the game were just making tits of themselves, no backing of the team on the park.. so shut the $#@! up from my mouth had to be said

We only have 13 games left, Scott won’t be able to pla against Celtic so there’s just 12 games for him. I don’t think he’s going to walk straight into the team either. Maybe it’s much ado about nothing....

I'd play him against the Huns, just for the seethe from the terracing.
He'd be getting dogs abuse, probably enough to drown out the 'party songs' we usually hear. He's a noisy fcuker is 1875.

And it wouldn't just be from 1875, I bet some of the Orcs would be giving him the same.

Imagine 1875 and 30,000 Huns all being in general agreement?

    Never saw that coming.

    I do indeed.

Although I have always acknowledged he had nice hair, his compliance with Level5 #handitin and the tame hacks in the 'sports journos' was pretty poor. I was at that game at Dumbarton - in fact I think I was there in your company - when the poisonous atmosphere could almost be tasted.

I don't want to see that again.
