T'was the night before the derby...

...and all through Hibee houses, there's loads of excited ticket holders waiting for their real present to be delivered by Santa Neil.

One more sleep till we venture into deepest, darkest Gorgie. A chance to visit the newest branch of Tesco, leaky roof, power outages and all.

The Gunts are making excuse type noises about injuries and suspensions. They spent Christmas training all the way through, including yesterday morning at Riccarton. Meanwhile, our players had the days off with family. Whilst Dylan volunteered at StreetSoccer Scotland and Slivka pottered around the empty city centre doing the tourist thing with visiting pals. Today, our team will get back together and spend the next 24 hours preparing in East Lothian. Two very contrasting preparations. Hopefully, our players will repay Lennon's trust and faith tomorrow evening...

The Gunts will be without Boy Wonder Harry, Marv's pal Callachan and the boy from Cameroon who hasn't won a derby, a derby in maroon. They have a couple of others allegedly facing late fitness tests.

Whittaker won't figure, his pelvic problems seem worse than those of a woman who's given birth to quads. How we line up may be influenced by what Lennon took from the recent Gunt game v Celt. The keech ploughed pitch, the tight parameters and their preference for launching the ball like an Exocet to the guy with the 21st May 2016 tattoo.

Most Hibs fans are hoping for another win but would probably settle for keeping our run going. If that was all that was on offer. It would do.

The Hibs fans who are going will be loud and proud, regardless of the outcome. Those watching the beamback or Sky tellybox, enjoy. It's this daftie on the Just Back. However, I am certain that there will be plenty chat on here with it being a televised game. It's always the way.

As Fraser Fyvie once said, I don't like it when they get chirpy. They've been gie chirpy in recent weeks. Let's put them back in their cage...
Hibs are standing on the brink of history...

Wasn’t aware Callachan was missing for them, he’ll be a big loss for them. Deal with Lafferty’s elbows and don’t allow Walker free pot shots at goal and we’ll be fine. If our players do themselves justice we’ll cause them far more problems than they will to us. Roll on tomorrow!

I cannae wait, Hibs away, other than the duff day in sheepland, are brilliant, a full Hibs end teaching the Gunts how to support their team is a great thing to be part of. With a 19.45 kick off, a merry Hibs end is certain.

Team wise, with Whitts Hip giving him jip and Sir Dave still wobbly, I would go for:

    Ricky
    Efe
    Paul
    Daz
    Lewis
    Barts
    Dylan
    SJM
    Boyler
    Stokesy and
Murray (or Olly) both can give the ancient regime who play at the back for the Gunts the runaround.

Bring them on......and take a booking for nailing the 21/05/16 tattooed freak.

I'm in hostility tomorrow, I'll be attempting to drink them out of house and home.

Great view of the Hibs support!

Please pick Marvin Bartley for this fixture.

Once upon a time the Merricks' hod carrier game was a major influence on this game, not any more. What a shock and how unnerving it must be for them to know deep down inside that Hibs have bullied them in the last few games.

As an honourable exception, I don't care too much about the quality of Hibs' football tomorrow. I'd like them to kick the $#@! out of anything in a maroon shirt tomorrow. It's their traditional game and we can now play it better than them.

Tomorrow’s is my xmas day. Spent yesterday dodging about my dads, the royal infirmary and briefly a visit to the links to see the really great work done by tricky and the street soccer lads. Plenty good Hibs folk doing unselfish work for the benefit of others yesterday, I hope they get the result they deserve.

I'd play the same team as we used on Saturday.

start with 10? would make a good story and we'd be still capable but if i were Lenny i'd add another (dylan ticktock?) and go full out for another seven (goals)

This derby is very difficult to predict and IMO too close to call.
Hearts will certainly be better prepared and better organised than they were in the last derby at Easter Road when Hibs should have won by a lot more than 1-0. They have improved significantly in defence with several recent clean sheets, whilst our defence continues to worry me. Hibs have a better midfield and that's usually where these games are won and lost. I agree with Stu that Bartley is a key player for us although his recent form hasn't been too good. I have heard that he has an ongoing shoulder problem so hopefully that won't keep him out of the match or lessen his impact on the game. Normally I would say go with a lone striker and flood the midfield but Hibs don't have any strikers capable of playing this role. I would probably go with the same team as Saturday maybe dropping Barker to bench as I doubt we will get away with playing two wingers in this match.

A tight game...as I said too close to call. I always believe home advantage is a big factor in derbies. I'm going for a 1-1 draw, a result I would be fine with as long as we follow it up with a win over Kilmarnock at Easter Road.

Tomorrow the Gunts will huff and puff, but we should have more than enough in the tank to see them off. We hear they have decent players missing, well I'm sure they'll hoof it even more. Please can we make more of our set pieces and not be bullied in the air in the box?

I think the only way we'll go behind is through our own making and if we do we are more than capable of equalising. Whether to play Barker is a tough one but he is too unpredictable. I think he should feature at some point.

I think he might go with the Huns line up, 3 up top.

We played them off the park, and it was sheer [bad]luck that we didn't score more against them.

Defensively, Berra holds them together at the back, but they get away with it because most teams only play one up against them. Give them more than one problem and they will crack. We have pace that will kill them, and goals can come from Stokes, Murray and Shaw.

They will hoof the ball up to Kyle Lavatory, he's a sh'itehouse, and try to negate the play because they have midfield problems.

If we play our passing game they will find it difficult to live with and resort to 6/7/8 bookings.

Time killing activity one out of the way...a slippy, icy 6K run. Hope the new Tesco has put 50p in the meter for the under soil heating...
