    Steven Dobbie

My son suggested him as a punt at Christmas, I reckon it might be worth a gamble? Thoughts?

Thought the same earlier. Not followed how he's done this season but a good seasoned pro.

He commutes by car from his home in NW England to Dumfries. He doesn't want to move his family and he wants to stay at home. Its why he signed for QoS. So he could commute from home each day.

An hour and a half from Carlisle to Edinburgh 🤔

Think he’s at the very end of his career though

Impressed with him last season; obviously not seen him this term.
Memory says I've more or less always been impressed with him, but I don't remember being impressed with him at Hibs. In fact, Huns game apart, I don't remember anything about him at Hibs.
He was 35 last week, so I doubt there'd be any chance of him being looked at seriously. I doubt he'd fancy a six-month contract, even at £2,000 per week. Far from sure he'd be up to Premier standard.
I have a really horrible idea we've just missed the player we need: David McMillan signing for Sainties yesterday. I'm always dubious about L.o.I. players - & managers😂 - coming over here, but I think McMillan will make it. A very different player from his predecessor as a midfield scoring machine at Dundalk... errrm, Richie Towell. Richie played a lot further forward for Dundalk than in his Hibs stint and moving straight to a Brighton squad eyeing promotion to the English Premier was likely a wee bit optimistic for Richie's career path. McMillan's 2 or 3 inches taller than Towell. I think he started out up front and has tended to play the centre-forward role at Dundalk of late, but he can be a beast of an attacking midfielder when deployed there. As long as Tommy Wright isn't going to try and turn him into a bottom-half version of Scott Brown, I think bigger clubs will be looking at McMillan by May.

So, some folk think Murray and Stokes are not good enough, but a striker, who's best days are well behind him and plays for Queen of the South is the answer. The mind boggles .
It's a bit like the stick Rocky gets when he has a bad game. Good players without flaws, are just not going to be playing for anyone in Scotland, apart from maybe the Smellies. Folk need to remember the money , relatively speaking , what Hibs can actually offer.
Surely a few young lads are a better gamble? Shaw was the dugs danglies 4 days ago, 45 minutes later he is not to be quoted.

Why not Kriss Boyd? He scores goals, it's just ridiculous eh!?

I thought he'd be a decent signing, but as already posted - he had other reasons for signing for Queens.

    Can't see that changing now.

    Pity.

He's only 35 but in footballing terms that's nearing retirement. Plenty of years ahead to spend with the family and bump up the retirement pot at same time.

Not 100% sure on him being a good move but we need someone in to guide the front line with experience and respected.

I was talking to a QoS fan last night.

It's very much that Dobbie is enjoying the quiet life and is loving it there.
