Yes. But the main part is gone IMO. Frustrating given time put into this.

    Indeed.

The young team were belting it out, the auld crinklies frowning and muttering sagely.

1875 said it was sung at Hamilton too. Never heard it there, never heard it last night either. Maybe it's a small blessing they're corralled into a corner and not heard by most if that's their patter.

Heard it in the 4 in Hand before the game too. Really hope it's not going to be a regular part of the repertoire

End of the day it cant be helped if people that sit in this section sing something stupid. That section has 200 odd seats and the 1875 lads are probably about 30-40 folk max

I belted them out with gusto back in the 60's and 70's (maybe not the Stokesies dad one) but that was a different era, when a TV programme could feature a line "You can't reason with a Sambo, they haven't got the intellect!" and nobody batted an eyelid, and playfully squeezing your secretary's tits was just a bit of banter. Most of us have moved on.

I don't really miss these days, although to be fair she had a great pair of tits.

The Richard Gough song,Gazzas wife and songs about Mercer are always the ones i think of when there’s a moral high ground taken, folk might not have joined in but they certainly didn’t disapprove.

Even the Craig Thomson piano man song was sung by most of the Roseburn end up until 2 yrs ago.

Total embarrassment watching grown men jumping about singing a paedophile song like a party anthem...

The IRA stuff is even more of a cringe

Hmm i dunno if right is the word, there’s always going to be “edge” to some games and iffy songs are part of it.
I wouldnae like to lose the edge even it means hearing dafties sing the odd song i don’t agree with.

It’s a bit like the casuals, some folk can’t abide by them but a chunk of them are the most dedicated Hibbys you’ll ever meet.

Are iffy songs any different from the pitch invasion on the scale of acceptability?
