Should have gone to the queue, been stuck in online queue for 30 mins now. No movement in waiting time, shows near the front but looks like it has seized up. So much for an improved service. Its $#@!e.

I didn't even bother trying this time. I thought about it, and then concluded that I only spend a day getting myself agitated for no reward, usually.

Annoying when I always used to go when we couldn't even sell our allocation, and then continued to do so when my loyalty points weighed me in. Have decided now, though, to leave the Tynie games for the away STs and those who have either faster fingers or can sit on the laptop for an hour on Tuesday morning.

    Pub it is!

EDIT: also just occurred to me that this will mean my last Tynie derby was the 2-2 game. Not a bad one to leave it at!
Get busy livin', or get busy dyin'...

400 available tomorrow at the ticket office if anyone fancies queuing.

The loyalty points system was by far and away the fairest way but, as usual, the loud minority shouted the loudest and got it removed.

The best point of the day... Up early from Nightshift to wait in Q for nearly 2 hours to get not even one ticket.. last season stood in Q for 6 hours from Nightshift.. just got them.. but that was with about 1500 for sale.. I remember someone saying to me on here why Q when you can go online.. aye right.. shambles to the ones who would have amassed plenty loyalty points.. joke

And to think Dempster was banging on to me about fairness in our phone conversation . Its a pity Hibs aren't run by football minded people because all the goodwill of the last 18 months will go eventually . Its a job to them , its life to a great many more

Queue closed. Vouchers handed out to those in queue to bring back tomorrow to exchange for tickets.

Seriously a really poor situation in this day and age.

I managed to get the last 4 from Leeann Dempster at half 7.
Not a soul in the car park when I got there, they had all been sent home with vouchers. Seen LD outside the back of the West and thought "if you dont ask, you dont get". She gave me 4 vouchers.

So some common sense not making people sit out all night. Its now up to them to follow it up tomorrow and get their tickets.

    We definitely need another system.

What a weird statement from Hibs as with one breath they are making 400 tickets available for "in person" queuing fans and then with the next breath they say but "this isn't their preferred method".

If it isn't your preferred method then why the "France" are you doing it then??

When demand exceed supply you are on a complete hiding to nothing but Leaane really has looked very indecisive and confused around anything to do with ticket sales.

400 "in person" tickets and potential overnight queues would only go to very fit healthy and relatively young committed supporters and I find it hard to believe they don't know how to use or have access to a PC or a smart phone.

Its December and Baltic and so thankfully someone saw sense and quickly gave out the vouchers and made an on-line announcement (Anyone see the irony here) about no one else joining the queue.

I'm not going to the game so wasn't trying to get a ticket but the Chief Executive then subsequently handing out 4 vouchers to some random (Dudge) at 7:30pm in a deserted car park smacks of complete amateurism and a real smack in the chops to those who wasted hours online in the morning.

I liked LD's pitch at the AGM where she gave a very good explanation about why she was against a loyalty points system and why she preffered an online system available to all season ticket holders.

If that's your policy then go with it, publish it and communicate this and makes it perfectly clear that is what is happening and going forward will always happen.

Its called leadership rather than continually changing the method every time an oversubscribed game comes around.

An old gripe but, other than economics, why do we make so many more tickets available to away fans than they do for us?

I understand that Dudge was carrying a baseball bat at the time of the deserted car park transaction. Probably on his way to baseball practice.
As well as four vouchers, he was also given a mobile phone, a handbag, and a set of car keys.

An old gripe but, other than economics, why do we make so many more tickets available to away fans than they do for us?
If we've got the seats spare, it makes sense to sell them. There's nothing more than economics (except possibly the polis having a problem with splitting the South stand for cat A games), if we could sell more tickets to home fans, and I'm sure we'd cut other team's away allocations at ER.

Good point - splitting the South would also cut capacity as there’d need to be some separation unless we took the upper tier. But nobody in their right minds would allow home fans to sit above away fans where they can rain drink piss and coins on them would they? Oh, hold on...

Leanne Dempster is trying to keep everyone happy, which is admirable but as you say, undermines her general approach somewhat.

I think that's the last time we'll see tickets being sold offline as it's now a competition to see who is willing and able to arrive at the stadium earliest. Or mug Chief Execs in car parks ;-)

Loyalty points would help, but even then given the number of season ticket holders over the past 3 seasons & the number of people who buy tickets home & away, it would still end up being a bit of a lottery and there is only 3000 odd seats available.

How come it works for every other club, including our delinquent neighbours?

Does it work? Does every single Jambo who feels entitled to a ticket at Easter Road get one? I’d suggest not, although I’m not disputing it works better than the nothing we have (I’m in favour of a loyalty system). My point is that no matter what we have in place, someone is always going to miss the cut for games at Tynecastle, Celtic Park & Ibrox.

Not really as plenty games in recent times didn't sell out the PBS. I remember only 1500 of us at the one nil win under much. Many occasions not selling out ibrox and parkhead. Look after loyal fans and the fans that make PBS there only away game go into a ballot. Where there is a small admin fee to cover cost of ballot

With a points system in place- based solely on matches attended- folk will miss out, but they'll accept it far more readily if the folk who have more points - and therefore attended more away games- than some lucky home s/t random who quite fancies a festive derby and has never seen the inside of Hamilton, Ross County or Tannadeecheee.

I've got just under 500 points, I know that there's probably 1500+ folk with more than me, but I also know I bought 9 tickets yesterday for me and others with more/less points than me when those 1500+ folk are possibly missing out.

I'll play the game and take the tickets, but it's not fair, and Hibs and LD specifically has the ability to alter it.

Absolutely - I could take missing out if I knew there was a decent reason why.

Even a ballot seems a bit fairer, especially if success in one means you can't enter another - i.e. folk who get lucky for the 27th won't get tickets for Jan 21st, for instance.

This free-for-all simply isnae fair at all.

We all know they had a good system and stopped it for poor reasons.

Its simple for me. All home season ticket holders get say 100 points at the start of the season, then those that also buy away season tickets get say another 100 as they go every away game and guarantee payment to the club for every away game, capping membership at say 500. Then say 2 points for every away game when tickets are bought through Hibs ticket office system for those that cannae commit to an away season ticket.

Then depending on game and amount of away tickets available, a tier system can be run for online sales only, take the grief away from the excellent staff in the ticket office and fans queuing overnight in freezing temperatures, whilst others cannot as they have work/ school etc to go to.

If Hibs want to reward fans for buying food at concessions, things in the club shop, or daft things like buying shares, discounts can be offered, but it should NOT be confused with FAIR access to away tickets.

Absolutely agree. The scheme can work if kept in a simple model.

Think a root cause of the problem is calling it 'loyalty scheme' in the first place - just because you don't attend any or many away games doesn't make you not loyal - especially if you spend alternatively at the club. The minute points were awarded for different offerings it convoluted the system, making it a complex structure.

The system should've been labelled 'away ticket priority scheme'. That's the ultimate aim of the points system.

Points only accrued for match attendance, for, well, attending matches.

    Too complicated imo.

100 points for a season ticket, ditch the away season ticket scheme, 1 point for every £ value of an away ticket, and don't include tynie/parkhead/ibrox in the scheme.

I hope the twisted supporters that kyboshed the old loyalty scheme missed out on tickets.

it wasnt perfect the old scheme - but people had put time and effort into it and with tweaks it was a hell of a lot fairer than this complete clustercuss

It removes the tier of away season ticket holders, why have that ( when it doesn't benefit the club financially anyway) and have a points system? The points system, based solely on away games excluding high tariff ones, makes it redundant.

and including the 'big' games would create an unfair tier, especially tynie. Supply will never meet demand, so giving the lucky ones points for those games gives them an unfair advantage for subsequent 'big' games.

The point a few seem to be missing (including LD it would seem) is it does not have to be one way or another!

Why not have 50% of our allocation for these high-demand away games set aside for folk with sufficient loyalty points (how these are allocated is another matter IMO but can easily be fine-tuned).

Then have the remaining 50% available to all ST holders in an online free-for-all similar to yesterday. This means this perceived "value" of the season ticket is retained and should appease the fannies who were threatening not to renew. Too simple?

I used to go to Tynecastle every time but haven’t been since the 2-2 in 2016. Honestly don’t know when I’ll get a ticket again due to the current system.

The problem is the demand is higher than it has been for years, but our allocations won’t change. I agree loyalty needs to be rewarded, but any points based system is still going to cause people to miss out.

I agree, the lack of a system is the biggest problem and the complaints are just.

The old system (pre-HSL) worked fine IMO, there wasn’t a problem. It only needs to reward current season ticket holders, those that had been the previous season (say reduced by 50%), and those that buy tickets home or away.

I’d say the only problem with that would be what the cut off is, and the potential for more those with sufficient points to grow to a level when it exceeds availability at Tynecastle etc.

I would be fine with the removal of the away season ticket, its expensive, inflexible and means you cannae sit with your mates at most away games where there is not the demand.

I would be fine with the removal of the away season ticket, its expensive, inflexible and means you cannae sit with your mates at most away games where there is not the demand.
I dabbled with the idea of getting one, but I knew there was a chunk of time in Sept/Oct where I'd be missing games so didn't.

And you're right, the inflexible nature of it counts against it.

This seems to be a serious blind spot with LD, it seems she's dug herself a hole and instead of accepting she *might* be wrong, she just keeps digging.

And there, my friends, is the reason in a nutshell why the system won't return. Not while she's still at ER.

Hopefully every fan that was at Aberdeen has a Derby ticket
