    Hamiltung Hibernian

They are fresh off a win at the Hunnery (very well done from this Hibby), we were $#@!e v St Johnstone.

Heading along? I am, I thoroughly enjoy Hibs away, have done since the pre season, big support, more positivity, better fitba, opposition cannae really sit in and hit us on the break.

I like Crawford and Docherty, we should do a McGinn on them.

Only uninforced change for me would be Dylan for Barker, with Stokes moving three paces to his left.

See you behind the goals if you are going.

No idea who is on the Just Back, remind me?

I can’t make it to the game but hoping we line up as you suggested, possibly with Whittaker for Gray if he’s fit.

Hamilton have already done us this season, but we are better away from home.
We wanna be free, we wanna be free to do what we wanna do, and we wanna get loaded, and we wanna have a good time... That's what we're gonna do

Heard Lennon say there’s been a bug that a couple of players have had this week. Think we could see a few changes if that’s the case.

For us "open all mics" listeners, this is getting towards my most nervous 20 minutes or so of the week.

Will the next "GOOOOAAAAAAALLLL" from our game be insurance or an equalizer? Pacing the room already

    - - - Updated - - -

    Christ, I f**king KNEW it.

The radio is like "Hibs have been brilliant", "Accies have created nothing", and yet...

Still time, though, Hibs. Don't chuck points away again.

We are going reasonably well for our first season back. But unless we address this chronic inability to convert dominance, we are not gonnae challenge for much.

We are a good side but the problem is that our inability to take more than one chance and our great ability for the occasional spectacular defensive cluster$#@!....means that absolutely any team in this league is capable of beating us.
I started out with nothing and i`ve still got most of it left.

I note Daz named as sub today - can only be good...

Nice strikers goal by Murray after an amazing run down the centre by Barker.

Touching interview of John Blackley at the break

Looks like Hibs are the only team playing football......

I can't believe the ref didn't blow for foul on Barts before the goal

All I can say is the Huns must be $#@! if they got beat by this set of cloggers

Once he`s match fit, i suspect our defence will improve dramatically.

We are not good enough in last third. Thought we were tippy in and around the box. Too many pointless passes. Not enough shoots. Or midfielders getting in box

Who would you drop for Daz? Efe and Hanlon are both playing well and of that trio none of them are really full backs.

Yeah, i agree. I mean good in the way we play. I like watching us. We`ve got some very good players and a good midfield though it also lacks goals.

I think when Darren comes back and gets fullly fit we`ll improve defensively but we simply need more goals from somewhere...

I think we've invested heavily in Stokes to produce the goals and we've just not seen it yet.

The annoying thing is we all know he`s capable of it. He`s a terrific striker as he`s proven throughout his career. I actually think he`d be more effective if we played with more pace....more direct.

He has talent. Doesn't show it enough. You could argue he hasn't shown it throughout his career. Hence he's with us when he should be at his peak. A marquee signing and not turned out as well as we need into.

Me too, first half we were brilliant with Bart as the third of three and Whitts and Stevenson pushed up?
Yeah diamond does suit. Bart dropping deep to allow whitty and Lewis to bomb on. Lenny can get us playing several formations, which is good. Just need to get more ruthless in last third. If there is money available we need a younger holty in January

Didn't Stokes have a flu bug the week before the Aberdeen game?

He has talent. Doesn't show it enough. You could argue he hasn't shown it throughout his career. Hence he's with us when he should be at his peak. A marquee signing and not turned out as well as we need into.
    A fair point.

We are not good enough in last third. Thought we were tippy in and around the box. Too many pointless passes. Not enough shoots. Or midfielders getting in box

I agree - to play with Stokes we have to sacrifice one of Murray/Boyle/Barker/McGeouch, none of which should miss out of me. Our 433 (or variations of it) work well, if we change it to bring Stokes in we loose pace & urgency.

I think Stokes is a very good player, but I don’t think he fits into our current set up.
We wanna be free, we wanna be free to do what we wanna do, and we wanna get loaded, and we wanna have a good time... That's what we're gonna do

After seeing the game again it was a clear foul on Bartman to the lead up to their goal and a stone wall pen on Dylan when he crosses the ball their player connects after it....Dirty $#@!s them lot are too how not one of them got a Red I will never know.

    Agreed.
Two terrible decisions one of which led to a goal being conceded (smart cross and header though) and the other one which would probably have led to a second and more than likely winning goal for Hibs. Having watched the highlights I don't think it was case as many were saying of Hibs missing guilt edged chances...more their keeper had an outstanding game and kept them in it.

Still not sure there's a foul on Marvin leading up to their goal, he should be stronger there. Thought he was poor second half, struggled to control the ball on that surface.

Also dunno whether that's a penalty...see that plenty, tackle after ball is crossed. Think we'd be very unhappy of that went against us.

Hibs need to get DMac back asap, play either 3-5-2 or 3-4-3. We're lacking a basic no nonsense centre back. Hanlon and Efe are both very good footballers, I want both to play, add in Darren and the mix is better.

    Midfield 5 of Lewis,McGinn,Bartley,Dylan and Boyle and Murray/Barker/Stokes 2 from 3

Only watched it on the telly but that's a foul on Bartlay all day long and the penalty is a ridiculous challenge. Definite penalty.

I watched it on TV too, as well as at the time. Didn't think Marvin was fouled at the time or now, the Dylan one not one person at the time called for a foul or penalty..other end of the ground right enough, but usually someone calls out if there's a hint. Seriously, if either of those had been reversed and a Hibs goal chopped off or penalty given, I doubt you'd accept them as being the right decisions.

Football is a physical game, Marvin- by his own deeds and words- is meant to be our midfield 'enforcer'. Dougie Imrie pushing you off the ball shouldn't happen. Too weak.

Which only goes to show how difficult it must be for the referee. I watched it a couple of times and I thought it was a definite foul.

    Me too.

it was a 'blocking tackle' like you'd see in American Football as opposed to soccerball.

I'm in the camp it wasn't a foul either. Thought the bounce of the ball caught Marv out.
