In September I wrote......

Many Hibs fans have been dismayed by the position taken by the Hibernian FC's decision to accept the decision by the SFA to reject the request by the 42 Club SPFL to have an Independent Review into the handling of non payment of taxes by clubs in the aftermath of the recent binding Supreme Court judgment against Rangers' liquidators BDO. Regan of the SFA said... “However, the image of the game in Scotland can only be damaged further by ‘raking over the coals’ of everything that has happened in the last six years for a further lengthy period of time.''

Your Branch Committee totally reject this assertion and would like your opinions. We would like to hear you opinions before any representation is made to Hibernian FC and the Hibernian Supporters Association.

As promised we then held a full consultation with 550 St Pat's Branch members putting our Committee's position up for discussion. I received over 130 written replies, some of which were fed back to the membership.

With a mandate I then took the right route and brought this up at the October Delegates meeting of the Hibernian Supporters Association. It would be fair to say that several of the Delegates of other Branches felt similarly and there was a consensus/unease at the voting of the Fans reps and lack of active participation with fans by them on this subject.

The Officials of the HSA have listened to the Branches and organised this meeting next Thursday at 7.00 in the Hibernian Supporters Association Club . It therefore follows that Hibernian have listened to the genuine concerns of HSA members and Hibs fans in general. This is an open meeting to all Hibs supporters and I would urge you all to use this opportunity.

In theory having two fans on the board should give supporters more clout at a club than an SLO. The problem is that the fans on the board have completely disregarded the opinions of the majority of fans and have failed not only to communicate their reasons for doing so but to communicate anything at all since the board's unanimous vote.

The Celtic SLO gives information on games,tickets etc and answers questions on twitter.

if you click on the tweets and replies tab,he's answered hundreds of queries

Much better than asking the nameless Hibs account and getting no reply because they don't know the answer.....

We should be looking at doing it imo

Hibs don’t want to answer to fans. Giving people the license to answer reduces other people’s power and self worth.

In some ways we have come on leaps and bounds in others we have sat still.

The respect that I feel the board have for the fans. I think we had moved forward but more and more it’s back to being a one way relationship and very much full of contempt

If anyone was to read the whole SLO thing I think almost all of us would think it's a great idea.

In my opinion Hibs have never embraced it, probably in line with other clubs in Scotland.

If I recall correctly a certain Mr Petrie was our nominated SLO at one time. A time when his kudos with the support was at an all time low.

Since then the role has been divided up, split up, ignored and $#@!ised to the point there's no feckin point at all.

There's a SLO conference coming up soon in a country near you!

Perhaps @traceyhibs could tell us who is liaising of behalf of the Hibs Supporters.

My take is that the club custodians run roughshod over the fans when things are going well, but disappear when things aren’t going well. Maybe I’m missing the point ?

Depending on the size of the club it's acceptable within the guidance provided by UEFA for the SLO role not to be full time. It doesn't say where the tipping point is though*.

* Weekdays 4pm on STV.

At a time of record season tickets holders, running the city and having arguably the best manager is decades , we should be one unit pulling everything in he righty direction. I still sense a them and us and it leads to my wondering what is being hidden. Why won’t we stand up to Glasgow more, sfa fiasco, restricted views seat at Celtic, constant abuse at ibrox, settling for whatever end old firm allocate us at hampden.
Also it looks like stf moved his shareholding in club from one of his many company or trusts back to direct ownership. Be nice to be told and why. No matter what this is our club. Through thick and thin

It seems I DID miss the point.

I had inferred that the criticism being levelled was back to the tired old 'Board making money for themselves/Petrie & Farmer profiteering' etc

I have no doubt at all that our Board are honest and do what they think is best for Hibs rather than seek to profit for themselves.

I quite agree that getting 'the fans' onside would benefit all. When the Hibs Family pulls together it is quite spectacularly successful.

However, it's also quite a dysfunctional family at times, and getting 'one voice' to speak for the fans in conversation with the Board is well nigh impossible.
Examples are Straitongate, Hibs Retro, and of course more recently Frank & Tracey giving a view that on the face of it anyway, the vast majority of Hibs fans entirely disagree.

Apologies for jumping to conclusions, over a couple of bottles of Rioja.

I’ll find all this out for you because the honest answer is I’m not 100%.

Haven’t refused to answer anything, attending meeting on Thursday to answer questions, have spoken to and had emails from a lot of supporters and we have our update coming out which should hopefully cover a lot of what has been asked. We also had the Working Together Meeting at the end of September following on from the statement and held half an hour at the beginning of that meeting to discuss matters.

We are also hoping to have a Fans surgery next weekend but we will update you on that.

There was the chance at the Working Together Meeting where Leeann, Rod and Stephen came along as we expected based on the chat on the forums, there to be a lot of new faces. One person who wasn’t a regular attendee turned up.

Apart from the AGM I am not sure if there will be another chance.

Happy to speak with you at a time that is convenient for you for you to express your views. I know it isn’t the same as having the other board members but happy to discuss anytime

Belting answer BTW. I was told that 'the heavies' were out in force at the WT group to help fend off the questions that you 2 as fans reps wouldn't be able to defend.
