Referee Last Night & If The Game Was Still Playing...

Jamie Walker would be on foul 80 and he'd still not be booked.

Seriously, WTF was that all about? On foul number three, that was a clear and obvious booking, the referee warned him and theatrically highlighted, where else on the pitch he had fouled. Yet he went on to commit at least three other fouls and was never booked!

There was a point after the third one where, I think, Hanlon and McGinn just lost it with the ref and appeared to be asking him what more he needed to do to go in the book.

If, as some are saying, the Jambos are blaming the ref in part for their defeat then... wow. They could easily have had a couple off. Walker, that young lad who hacked McGinn (or Barker can't remember at the end). That last one was one of the latest challenges I've ever seen.
    so what do I know

    Quite extraordinary refereeing.

Referees seem to be very lenient this season.
Abersheep should have had a couple red carded on their last visit, the Gunts were lucky to finish with eleven on the pitch, and the elbowing and kicking at the The Huns game was a bit naughty too.

Letting Stevie May have a manbun without at least a yellow still leaves me bewildered.

Indeed. I thought the malicious challenge from Stevie May on Boyle 9 days earlier was the worst I've seen for taking out an opponent but Cochrane on McGinn last night was by far worse. There is a difference between a professional foul - trip or a pull - and a deliberate attempt to wipe a player out. It should be seen in the same light as kicking off the ball when it is that late.

    Surprised everyone kept their cool.

The assault on SJM by Cochrane was as clear a case of a red card as you're ever likely to see - zero attempt to win the ball, all about taking the man out. Classic example of the professional foul.

Utterly incomprehensible that that was not a straight red. I feel like the ref has let him off because he's young.

Anyone watching on TV - what were the assorted pundits saying about it?

I had the sound down unfortunately!

Meant to say, the replay above doesn't really show, but I wonder if SJM bouncing up clearly unhurt made a difference. I can't actually remember the aftermath, but I recall not thinking it was as bad as it was until I saw the replay, did he maybe roll to his feet?
    so what do I know

You can see in that clip his eyes are completely on SJM, not following the ball, and the kick is premeditated
    Game's rigged, why bother?

I'm not doubting either. No my problem he couldn't see the referee made a number of poor decisions on the night.

Standard of refereeing in Scotland is generally $#@! - maybe he thought the referee wasn't any worse than the usual incompetence.

Or maybe he's got fed up with life in Brazil and he's looking for a gig on the Daily Retard.
