    McGinn Bartley and McGeouch

The best central midfield show in a derby for a very long time.

    That was special.

Aye and the 2 wide men had the full backs on toast. But for a couple of better decisions from Boyler we might have got a couple more. No havin a go at him though. We played as a unit, no failures tonight. We done them big time.

I really do prefer McGeouch starting deeper, he's such a good player.
Glides around the park, had his hand in every move, forward and back.

    Masterful.

Each one of them was immense. The gunts had nothing to combat them with.

Incredible. McGeouch fit is the best player we have by far.

All three magnificent....Hearts could not cope with them in the middle of the park and their full-backs were run ragged with the pace and skill of Barker and Boyle down the flanks, especially in the first half. I don't like singling players out on what was an excellent all round team performance, by Dylan McGeouch was rightly MOTM after a fabulous display. He must be pushing for an international call-up soon on that sort of form.

Malky was watching from the stands. On that performance, if he don't pick him then there is no hope for Scottish fitba...

During the game Sutton [I think] said that he should be considered for a starting place in the upcoming Scotland friendly. Who could disagree with that.

Agreed. Outrageously good. Dylan is just right in the sweet spot at the moment. The other two not too shabby either.

Marvin in derbies is a joy. We can finally retire the Matty Jack role moniker. Dylan is pure silk. John like a rampant bull. They embrace the derbies, not fear them.

I sincerely hope we are planning to offer Dylan a new contract soon. He was outstanding tonight. He is the best football player at Easter Road at the moment. And we didn't need that $#@! Thompson to tell us that! Dylan plus Henderson and maybe even a cheeky bid for Christie would be great foundations for life after SJM leaves.

Marv has been consistently good for us so no surprise about tonight. Well played!

McGinn played alot better 2nd half today but still blows hot and cold at times despite his talent. I loved that he gave a wee sarcastic wave over to the departing Jambos at the end of the game.

Over on kickback they reckon he is nothing but a thug Apparently he spent the whole game booting gunt players up in the air and got away with murder. They have absolutely no grip on reality.

PS. There's a thread on the ref just building up nicely.

Total domination by the midfield. Big Marv is an absolute rock, what a great player to have, especially in the derby.

If we’re not talking to Dylan’s agent about a new deal I’d be worried.

This might be controversial but I'd rather lose McGinn than McGeouch at end of the season. Dylan is our midfield general. Would rather lose neither but that isnt the way football works anymore.

Indeed. Apparently we told him he could go in the summer. I've always stated that I believe him to be our best player. Even when only getting one game in four. The boy is outstanding.

Watching Marv reminded me of his comments in the Cup DVD when he talked of them trying to noise him up in the tunnel, and him just laughing at them. Every team needs a Marv

I'm watching this game all the way through on HibsTV because my old man said Dylan McGeough was virtuoso combined with you guys here.

McGeough, McGinn and Bartley - give us such a good balance in midfield. And if Boyle and Barker are at it, we can very dangerous. Add Slivka to the picture too.

As good a football player as Stokes is, he doesn't give us the same dynamic as a sheer workhorse like Murray.

If we lost McGinn (when), i would think Christie would be a suitable replacement - Henderson is quality, but a different type of player.
