Rangers fan wants to become Hibs supporter!

A guy I've known for a short while, couple of years, wants to become a Hibs supporter rather than a sevcovian fan/follow follower of the EPL.

    Is such a change possible?

He seems a reasonable chap. Through rents his family split between the 2 clubs and obviously the poor lad was born on the wrong side of the tracks. He went to a few of their games as a youngster with his dad but he's not been to a sevco game in the time I've known him.

He lives in Edinburgh now having moved a little to the east so any pressure there to follow follow has been lessened.

When I first met him he was all 'Aye, Hibs are my second team' I thought 'Aye, right.'

When he asked if I could get him a ticket for a Hibs v sevco game I told him to bolt!

He's kept it up though, asking if I can get him a ticket to a Hibs game and I keep on saying NO! He's at it again now for the derby. Again in in the no camp.

His partner is a Hibby, that's how I know him, and his young daughter is to be brought up on a heady mix of Hibs and Disney!

    I'm weakening.

He does seem keen to join the green and white army, our one not the green and whytes that $#@!ed them over!!!

    What should I do?

Ach! It doesn't matter. There's no free seats near me anyway!

    I suppose it’s possible.
Ivan was brought up a currant bun but bled green later in life.

    But it’s rare.

To be on the safe side it’s probably better not to comply.
Just tamper with his brakes or maybe his gas cooker. Err on the side of caution.

If he wants to become a Hibs fan then its entirely up to him- he doesn't need to ask you to get him tickets. As far as I'm aware 90% of home games there's always tickets available and same goes for many away games. If he really wanted to be a Hibby then he'd already have become one and he'd also have an intense hate for the team previously know as Rangers.

A mate who works abroad bought himself a flat in Leith so I take him to ER when he’s home. He’s ditched his former allegiance for der Hun which was in his words ‘a childhood aberration’. Whether he’s actually a fully fledged hibby is up for debate but it’s a start.

Buy him a ticket and a scarf. Who would ever know what he used to be, most people are capable of redemption.

I agree. We are Hibernian FC. We are big enough to forgive former aberrations (such as Pat Nevin once being a Celtic fan) and welcome them to the fold. What greater gift can we offer a fellow human being than to encourage him to escape the hunnery, and welcome him on the path of righteousness to Easter Road - a stadium where we are proud to say the home fans pretty much gave up on sectarian bull$#@! 30+ years ago.

For what it’s worth, me and my then schoolmates helped convert a Jambo to Hibee happiness in the late ‘60s. Fifty years on, he is one of the season ticket-holders who sits beside me in the East Stand.

Check out his sincerity. Get him a ticket. At half time get him an overpriced crap dry crusted mince pie and one of yon pizzas that look like they are a by product from the reprocessing plant at Sellafield. If he completes the test you can confidently have some hope for him Jack.

    BIG G

Everyone's words of support are helping me thru this. I appreciate every comment, prayer and positive thought.

Guys and girls I can't emphasise how much your words are encouraging and helping me. This battle has barely started but I know you'll be by my side every step of the way - it's giving me great strength - Shaun 16/03/2016
