Are ST holders opting out on Saturday?

13000 ST holders but thousands of them not going on Saturday? Has to be the case because of the number sold and the number of Non-ST holders going.

Aye, it's the holidays. Aye, it's not cheap and it's a daft KO time. Aye, it's on telly. But it's Hibs at Hampden.

Is the knowledge that a final ticket is guaranteed for 13000 people swaying people's decisions about going. You can be sure if Saturday was the final people would find a way to be there?

Genuinely interested in the things that influence supporter patterns?

I've got 3 seasons in my group that haven't purchased yet. Been waiting to see whose all going before getting tickets. Probs get 7tickets today.
Do know a couple of seasons who can't make it but have 4 in my group who normally wouldn't go.

I have a ST pal who's stopped going to Hampden, didn't even go to THE FINAL. Too many sad return trips he says.

You would think 13K ST holders plus additionally all the die hard folk that pop out the woodwork for a day trip but I'm hearing it's around the 10K mark? Not sure how accurate that is but disappointing if true.

Hibs in general are playing well and were fantastic in the 2nd half at Parkhead a few weeks ago. Get along if you can.

Dodgers whinging for Scotland (or Ireland) over our sales. Numpties spamming Hibs official twitter demanding we send back unsold tickets for them. Whilst most are congratulating Hibs on their marketing ploy today, they're predictably siding with BT.

By Sauzee, let's do this Hibs...

It's a weird feeling - not going to Hampden.

First time I've missed since 1979 when I was 'stranded' at Wembley and missed Nijinsky scoring the winner for that lot that died.

I was at all the 'thrashings' before 1979 anaw.

Better be a fcukin long marriage, with me missing a Hibs game for it.

    Exactly. 2nd June for me.

I missed the third game in 1979 due to being at Wembley, but got married a few days later.

    Pretty $#@! week that.

June 19th 2nd time, I’ve erased 1st time from my memory. End of May sometime, or it could have been February

She's more likely to have been called May.

February sounds more like a Tennants Lager girl, or at the very least a Sun Page 3 girl, and there's no way..........................

    Is there?

So now we know the reason. Some Hibs version of an OK magazine wedding shoot has decimated the crowd. How rude...

Also now makes sense why 1875 is taking his pensioner mum. Needs an old dear to drive to the game and you bailed. You've changed.

I picked up my 6 tickets at lunchtime today, the folk in the ticket office reckoned we'd sold just over 10k.

Spoke with someone at Hibs 30 minutes ago. 10,500. Pretty grim in my opinion, even with the obvious extenuating circumstances. Met a couple of season ticket holders on my walk with whippets routine this morning on the Links. Both said that apart from the other circumstances, the addition reason for non attendance was they thought we will get humped and were looking forward more to attending the Hertz game. Just saying likes.

Everyone's words of support are helping me thru this. I appreciate every comment, prayer and positive thought.

Guys and girls I can't emphasise how much your words are encouraging and helping me. This battle has barely started but I know you'll be by my side every step of the way - it's giving me great strength - Shaun 16/03/2016

Always seems to be a big turnout for ' winnable' games at Hampden eg 35,000 Hibs for Livi, Killie, Ross County finals, folk less keen when think we will lose..strange attitude to supporting really

I'd say that there is definitely a correlation.

Then suddenly some reasons become more valid in folks minds than they might have otherwise been.

I heard one STholder say they're not going in case it spoils their birthday. Hibs playing on my birthday this year was a total treat. I'd see it as an extra present.

I prefer the games at hampden when we aren't expected to win that's when we play better usually and it adds to the day out of we get a win

I prefer the games at hampden when we aren't expected to win that's when we play better usually and it adds to the day out of we get a win
I just like Hibs winning, but I know where you are coming from.

    BIG G
Days out at Hampden are always better with the 300 though ⚔️

The pricing is absolutely dreadful and purely exists because they know Celtic fans will pay it. No concessions in the North or South and £25 in the West being the cheapest adult ticket for a semi final is ridiculous. By comparison, here are the ticket prices of our last three semi finals at Hampden (all at Saturday 12:15 on TV, and all in the more prestigious Scottish Cup, too)...

    Aberdeen, 2017 - 19,000 Hibs fans
    North & South: £30 adults, £15 concessions
    East: £20 adults, £10 concessions

    Dundee United, 2016 - 13-14,000 Hibs fans
    North & South: £28 adults, £10 concessions
    East: £18 adults, £7 concessions

    Falkirk, 2015 - 15-16,000 Hibs fans
North & South: £23 (no concessions)
    East: £15 adults, £5 concessions

And also, the change in the League Cup's format now gives fans a notice period of just over 30 days between the quarter final and the semi final at Hampden. Compare the gap this time with the 2015/16 League Cup, where we beat Dundee United on 4th Nov and didn't play St J in the semi until 30th Jan. This doesn't give some fans much flexibility in terms of booking time of work, budgeting for a trip through to Glasgow etc.

This sounds like a bunch of excuses, bottom line is it's a shame that there aren't more Hibs fans going, but the SPFL have nobody to blame but themselves for tomorrow not being nearer to a sell out.

If we take the reported 12000 it will be one of the biggest non old firm supports for a League cup final at Hampden in the last 20 years. Of course there will be season ticket holders not going for a variety of reasons. 12000 is a very healthy support for us.
