    Horrible

The levels of "professionalism" this afternoon from the opposition. Were allowed to get away with so much. How that wee rat Christie stayed unpunished I know not. Maybe he has some uncompromising photies of the ref.

Some may compliment Aberdeen's ability to grind out results but that's not my idea of how teams should go about their business. It's a shame because they clearly have some decent players but they don't do decent in the other sense.

Definitely. From the minute Boyle sold Stevenson down the river st the caution he was being targeted in this way by GMS - most obviously just before GMS was subbed.

When we play the dons on 16 Dec and Lenny employs these same tactics and we get three points, I will be delighted.

If we employed those tactics there would be red cards all over the team

Agree - tactics were hard and ref turned a blind eye too often.

That said, I was more concerned with our final ball - consistently poor, as is our ability to convert chances - both long-term issues. Do we need a striker's coach?

Yeah always thought strikers coach would be good. We aren't that great in that area of the pitch. Hopefully have cash to bring in another striker.

Any respect for Aberdeen and what they have done the last couple seasons has well and truly gone . They pulled the wool over the refs tinted glasses today and proved how incompetent yet again the refs are.

Heavy challenges, late tackles, diving & time wasting isn’t my idea of football. They play like a Hun team.

Hibs on the other hand were too ponderous on the ball and not physical enough to match Aberdeen’s game plan.

While I agree with the original poster regarding Aberdeens dirty tactics I thought we were crap today overall. Some of the referee decisions were also garbage.

Lenny got his system wrong, we should have had x2 strikers on the pitch from the start. Then didn't put Murray on until it was too late (84 mins), and again only x1 striker. It was plain to see Stokes was struggling on his own. I think Boyle found it a little more challenging today against better oposition. Whittaker was guff, I hope Sir David is restored for next week.

Aberdeen had it too easy as all our play was in front of them. Two up front could have caused them problems, but we never saw it. Stevenson was totally outclassed by GMS, he couldn’t match him for pace or physicality. Hanlon, who I thought was magnificent, constantly had to cover.

Agree, although it seems to be the way in Scotland - Oldco Huns / Same Scumbag Celtic did it for years as did the 'New Firm' in the 80's. Maybe we are too naïve - after all Celtic under NL tried every trick in the book? No such thing as winning fair here it seems.

That said we really need to have a much more competitive league in Scotland - 30 years with no real resistance to the teams in Glasgow has been a right scunner for me...finding it more and more difficult to see anything positive in SPFL at the moment - we can't compete financially, and anyone that threatens to are 'put in their place' by poor referees....game is run for two clubs more than I can remember.....the SFA will bust a gut now to 'support' Sevco get back to a two club equilibrium and say sorry for the last few years - that's only to the detriment of every other club...sad.

Another sore one and I thought we deserved a point, at least. The Dons were dirty, how they finished with 11 men on the pitch I'll never know. I didn't count many of their chances, but they put one away, which turned out to be crucial. That Mackay-Steven is a little moaning scrote, I thought he should have been booked for walking slower than ma granny off the pitch. The ref did add 5 minutes injury time, but I thought it might have been more for all of their timewasting. I guess the Dons will be second place this evening, but I wouldn't want to pay to watch crap like that.

We had a lot of the ball in the second half, I thought Stokesy struggled as centre forward(he's been ill?), and Dylan looked uncomfortable so high up. Perhaps if Lennon had realised earlier that Aberdeen were going to park the bus after they went one up, he would have made the changes and gone two up front earlier. When we pressed them it worked however our final ball was poor. We did waste a number of set pieces. Hanlon was superb and rightly so got man of the match.

I had a sh*te seat in the east stand, is it built for wee gadgy guys only? I'm sure I saw Alex Miller further down, did anyone else notice? Well his seat must have been worse than mine.

    Bit of a "mehh" game.

The sheep were niggly and timewastery from the off.

The ref was soft, but so were we.

We didnt do enough to deserve anything from the game, then neither did they, although I suppose they put the ball in the net - we could still be playing now (18:37) and wouldnt have.

Need more from the team next week.

We should have adjusted to it and been doing the same with a ref who was doing $#@! all about it, or been doing our dingers at every foul and demanding bookings and putting pressure on the ref. You can't blame Aberdeen for taking advantage of the woeful ref. We were at fault for not doing the same.

Honestly the day I thought we were naive. Every decision we got from them doing tactical fouls we were bouncing back onto our feet and trying to take them quickly. They had already got back into position by that point (the one exception McGinns beautiful crossfield one to Slivka (?) getting us a one on one) and we're trying to rush it. Lie down on the floor for a bit pretending you're hurt. If you don't, the ref today is never going to book them for it and allow them to do it the whole game. Make him punish them, otherwise there's nothing to stop them doing so. Oh, and if you don't want to do that, at a minimum learn how to do the exact same thing every time they're breaking.

The ref was shocking and they did dive, waste time etc but the ref was
consistently pish for both teams. What was a yellow for one wasny for the other. We as a team need to be more physical and not shy away, if we had another 10 on the park like Bartley these draws/loses would soon be wins

For second team in Scotland to play like that is a $#@!ing disgrace. It was the same in the semi-final so there should have been no surprises!

    1. We should have known better and ready for it.

    2. If that's the second best and what clubs should aspire to in Scotland, as a national team, we'll never be any better than $#@!e and in the European club competitions cannon fodder.

Thought we deserved at least a point.
Disappointed in the ref who I believed was one of our best until today.
How May stayed on I dont know.
The wee $#@! nibbling at Lewis Stevenson every time......

    Poor.

Some slack passing from ok Hibs, but I’m quite surprised at some at some of the negative comments.

Man bun should be a straight red. No question.

His tackle (ironic because with a man bun that advertises a tackle deficiency) was just a cowardly assault.

Abersheep moved up a place or two on my ‘teams I $#@!en hate’ list.

What I watched was a lesson into how to bully a team and manipulate a game to your advantage. That's the benefit Aberdeen have gained from the last couple of years where they have been 2nd top. It's experience and gamesmanship. It doesn't make for great viewing, but I'd love to see Hibs in a position to do the same to those about us. That's why the Dons are joint top.

But they only got away with because of a shocking ref allowing them.
On that refs performance if we had employed same tactics we would easily have had a couple red cards

I don't really get this thread. We should have rattled Blondie the riverboy as many times as possible, and we must be flying into tackles against the gunts next week.

Didn't think it was a straight red for May at the time
I would usually agree if there was a genuine attempt for the ball but there was none whatsoever, usually players bring others down by hand grabbing but this was a lunge with feet and because of that it's a deliberate 'kicking out'. He should've walked.
