For what they've done for Hibs, I'd have Stokes over Griffiths all day long.

Mixu is worth a mention. Hatrick against the Gunts, in that famous 6-2 battering.

Loved Mixu! He wasn't the most skilful or graceful but watching him burst defences like a Sherman tank was a joy.Garry O'Connor definitely deserves a mention.

Cummings deserves a mention too. I'd choose Cummings over Griffiths just for the fact Griffiths never actually belonged to us. Leigh was a fantastic player for us and a better all round player than Jason.

Spent alot of time in the company of these two men, both are/were an absolute pleasure to talk too. Jimmy could gossip for hours and I'd never interrupt, Alan was saving me money, so I'd never interrupt!

Never had the pleasure of seeing either play, so I'll not vote for them, but of they won the vote I'd be more than happy.

Joe Baker - saw him - the best striker Hibs have ever had.

Lawrie Reilly - saw him in the West Stand - I'm having it.

He scored nine goals in one game in 1961....a 15-1 win against Peebles Rovers in the Scottish Cup, Hibs biggest ever win.

Scored 4 in his third game for us, against Morton, never scored more than that in a single game according to wiki

Been thinking about this lots today, and Riordan truly is the most two footed player I can recall playing for Hibs, has there ever been a player who takes free kicks with either foot? Maybe there is, but I can't recall one , for any team .
If only he had the application to match his talent , he could have been in a world eleven . Even his lack of pace may have been down to his lifestyle, it certainly would have improved it
Archie was the cleverest player I seen. Similar players in a way .
Keith Wright was total Hibs , and a great player too, but if truth told, he wasn't in the same class.

He scored nine goals in one game in 1961....a 15-1 win against Peebles Rovers in the Scottish Cup, Hibs biggest ever win.
Apologies for my post...should have read the thread through properly. I thought HaarlemShuffler was talking about Joe Baker !

I resent your assumption and the implication of my possible age... but you can win brownie pointa if you tell me more about Gerry Baker, since you brought him up. I dimly remember him from dark football annuals of the early 60s, er, inherited[ from older family members.

Er, might have been one family member. And he might justa been a fúckin jambo at that. Just so you know.

PS amazeballs re Joe Baker and the 15-1
