McGregor & Säuzee but Gordon Hunter was terrific for us. If the boy could have passed a ball he would have been amazing.

Went for Stewart and McNamara as I saw them both playing in the same Hibs team and they were probably the best central defensive pairing I have seen for Hibs. If it was down to pure individual ability then it would be Sauzee and Blackley.

Toughest one yet, opted for Sauzee & McGregor but Rob Jones wouldn't be far behind nor Paul Hanlon.

Sauzee and Hanlon- that goal at Tynie just swayed me enough from Jones.

Genuinely surprised Jones is beating McGregor. Loved Jones but for me McGregor is a far far more accomplished defender.

John Blackley is the best defender I've seen in that position in a Hibs jersey. I'd pair him with Sauzee.

Remember these games. He was different class. Must have been quality in him prime. Tommy Craig played left mid these games also and looked quality

Sauzee , because he was world class . A god
McNamara , because he almost single handedly carried us for a few bleak years. He was up against some other good centre halves at the time, but how he didn't get at least a couple of caps was disgraceful .

Gordon Rae & Franck Sauzee. 2 immense men with thunder in their thighs. The ground shook when they entered the arena.

Aye? I was totally the other way round on that. Heart said McGregor, but to my mind he is a solid but simple no-nonsense defender where Jones was far more skilful.

I'm surprised DMac is beating Hanlon. They compliment each other well, but I think Hanlon is the more rounded, better footballing defender. Quicker and better technical ability. DMac is a warrior, but has limitations- speed in particular.

I love both like they're my wee brothers though.

Blackley was magnificent for us for many years.
And of course Frank Sauzee who was a superb footballer and a gentleman too.

Me also. Jones dragged out of position which left gaping holes. Also many an arguments with big maka whose ball it was. When he held his position was a good player. But for me not as good as Daz.

Agreed. Never thought Jones was good and all too often left the keeper to sort out his mess.
