    Line up versus the Sheep...

Big game on Saturday and tactics are going to be king.

Who would you go with - especially in the light of Parkhead.
Hibs are standing on the brink of history...

    Laidlaw

    Whittaker
    Ambrose
    Hanlon
    Stevenson

    McGeouch
    Bartley
    McGinn

    Boyle
    Murray
    Stokes

Although I wouldn't be disappointed to see the same XI that started at Celtic Park or Sir David back in for Whittaker if he's fit.
Seems like there's a hole in my dreams, or so it seems

    442:
    Marciano
    Whittaker Ambrose Hanlon Stevenson
    Boyle Bartley McGinn McGeouch
    Murray Stokes

    Bench:
Laidlaw, Gray, Porteous, Slivka, Swanson, Barker, Matulevicius

From what I’ve seen of Aberdeen, they struggle against a front two so bribing in Murray makes sense. Slivka drops out only because he’s still finding his feet, although the bigger games suit him.

Same starting 11 as Parkheid. Lennon should stick with 4-1-4-1 including Slivka. Ditch the 4-4-2 stuff from the last century that some aulder supporters struggle to see past. :-)

Only real debate, barring unknown niggles and injuries, is between Slivka, Swanson or Murray being played (obviously effects the system we play).

    Laidlaw still has the gloves.

Needs to be the same team as played v Celtic. Midfield will be crucial.

Hopefully Slivka comes back confident after his stoater of a goal for Lithuania. There's definitely a player there. Big Dave, I'm not so sure.

Dropping Laidlaw when not only has he not done anything wrong but he has done a lot right? Seems a tad unfair on him.

I would go with that but think he will put Whittaker in ahead of Sir David.

I can see the argument for Gray but Whittaker played well at Celtic park. Wish he wasn't so hot and cauld at the minute.

It is a tad harsh, but I say that because Marciano wasn’t dropped in the first place.

Laidlaw came in because Marciano wasn’t going to be available at Celtic Park, so Lennon (rightly) made the call to given him some game time. I think Lennon will go with Marciano on Saturday as he’s viewed as our number one goalkeeper, and Lennon will pick his perceived strongest players given the run we have coming up.

It’s the same reason I don’t think he’ll pick the same team that faced Celtic Park, as there’s some big fixtures coming and Lennon will change the team to suit the opposition.

I reckon the Jewish thing came along in time to save rocky being officially dropped mate and now laidlaw has come in and played well enough I think to keep the gloves

Aye possibly, Lennon was critical of him for the goals Motherwell scored. I sill Lennon views him as the number one at Hibs, but he also clearly has faith in Laidlaw.

What a position to be in, two good goalkeepers fighting over the gloves rather than the bad old days of “he’s no as $#@!e as him”.

If we never had Rocky I would be happy with Laidlaw and as stands think competition is healthy having the 2 vie for the starting line up.

The only one concern about Laidlaw is lack of game time for a very decent prospect who could become a great keeper.

Lennon confirmed in his press conference today that Laidlaw will play on Saturday.

I like a 4-2-3-1 and think we have the players to make it work for tomorrow: -

    Laidlaw

    Whittaker - Ambrose - Hanlon - Stevenson

    Bartley - McGinn

    Boyle - Slivka - Stokes

    Murray

If everyone was fit and on form, I'd see McGregor in ahead of Ambrose. Whitty and Gray would battle it out for RB. Swanson and Slivka for the no 10 role. Barker could fit in out wide instead of Boyle if needed or bring him in, drop Murray and play Stokes through the middle sometimes.

While I can see the argument for changing the team and formation to suit the opponent, I think if we got used to playing a certain style week in week out the players would slot in nicely and we could get good at it so it didn't really matter what most opponents do. Not saying we'd win every week but to quote Tony Mowbray "we'd win far more then we'd lose". Look at tomorrow's opponents, they have found away to play over a 4-5 year period and stick to it most weeks. They rarely lose or even draw and when they have it has tended to be coz McInnes has moved away from the tried and tested.

Forgot about Rocky and Dylan. No problems with Rocky coming in for Laidlaw at some point and Dylan could be used at a no 10 or just in front of the back 4 with McGinn or Bartley. This is why I think 4-2-3-1 works for Hibs as at the moment we have plenty players who can slot in and adapt in many areas of the formation.

The club say 3 stands sold out as they have for other games but still plenty empty seats.

Pretty even game I thought but Aberdeen just had a slight edge.

    Inconsistent refereeing.

    At least that’s consistent.

Thought we were ok today, although felt upfront stokes offered very little, should've been off or had Murray up next to him a lot earlier than 84mins!!

We were brutal. Could have sent out 11 supporters and we'd have created more. Have all the ball you want but it's not impressive unless you do something with it.

We've played a lot worse, had a lot of the ball but it's hard to do anything with stokes up there himself wandering about and they're very compact had every man behind the ball very hard to get through and it showed with how little shots we had. Wish we would hit shots from outside the box more offen

Lost count how many times thry had 8 or 9 men behind the ball in the area. They defend like that then have the pace to break quickly.

Boyle was honking on the left, Dylan bullied physically, Stokes often isolated. SJM was the main worry for them.

Was like being back in the championship again. Boyle was ineffective on the left against that Logan as he's quick too, made a difference when we finally went with 2 wingers. Murray needs to be brung on earlier, he's a nuisance to defenders chasing them down doing exactly what stokes doesn't do.

I seen Stokes chasing down defenders a few times today

He did at times but a lot of times he just wanders about, to be fair though I sometimes appreciate effort for than ability and if someone who at times can lack ability (Boyle & Murray) but chase everything and anything down even if it looks a lost cause I'd rather have them in my team than someone that 8/10 will leave a ball over the top cause they know they're not making it instead of chasing it down and making the defender have to make a decision like the 2 mentioned above, although stokes will always get a pass for 21.05.16
