Unfortunately it has to be Goram. Was it new year 1988 he played half pished at Tynecastle having enjoyed the hospitality at the Lady Nairne? He made some saves that day that were remarkable. Top class.

Leighton and Rough were amazing goalkeepers for us but neither were in the same class as Goram.

Another vote for Goram. I didn't have the privilege of seeing Tommy Younger who was apparently a very fine keeper indeed.

Leighton and Rough were just great for Hibs but disregarding Goram's antics off the pitch, I felt he was out there on his own. In fact I believe he was the best Scottish keeper I've seen, full stop - by quite a long way.

On top of all that he single-handedly saved us from an absolute trashing at the hands of the Gunt at ER

Wasn't around for guys like Tommy Younger, would be interesting to see how he would fare today with greater emphasis on defending that back in his day

I started following Hibs regularly at the end of the Roughie era so I can't comment on heriot or younger.
I voted for Goram. He's the best goalie I've seen, not just the best Hibs goalie.

We have had some great goalkeepers at Hibs over the years. My dad reckoned Lawrie Leslie and Jimmy Kerr were great keepers in the 40's and 50's and both played for Scotland..Tommy Younger as well. We were very lucky in he 80's and early 90's to have three IMO world class goalkeepers in Rough, Goram and Leighton all at Easter Road. Goram for me though is the best goalkeeper I have ever seen.

I’ve been fortunate to see some excellent keepers at Hibs. Made it all the more difficult to watch some of the more recent dross. Big Maka being one example.
The Flying Pig was the best, and he was a decent enough guy until he was infected with Hunnery.

Total arse of a man but superb keeper.

Stein sold Simpson to the Smellies just before he jumped ship to them himself. Left a nasty smell - and a few suspicions - at the time.

I looked it up. And here’s the interesting thing. Simpson was the hibs goalkeeper before stein joined. Stein immediately dropped him and in his 50 games in charge never selected him opting for willie Wilson and jack Reilly. He sold him to Celtic, but it clearly wasn’t meant to be as first choice when he moved there.
